Question about Philips 15MF170V 15 in. HDTV-Ready LCD Television

Philip hd flat screen

Tv in spa, the power will not come on, you can put a dvd in and hear it but cant see it, the red light on the tv stays red and the screen black, there is no power button on the front of the tv. someone told me to "take it apart" and turn it on manually, i dont know if theres a button back there or not. and i dont think everytime you get in the spa you need to take the tv apart to turn it on. the remote doesnt turn on the tv. but turns on the radio and dvd stuff. and if there is a button to turn it on manually, are there a way to fix it to where it comes on with the remote, or A remote of any kind? the spa is new, but i am having difficulties getting the store to come out, there the ones who said "TURN IT ON MANUALLY" can you believe it?!

First time I have seen a spa tv lcd fail, sorry but I can tell you it is the capacitors in the tv that have issues they will have to be re[placed call a service tech that can take the tv in for electronic work if you want to spend the money or you can replace the whole thing for probably less money than repairing the old unit, by the way if you have a tv in a spa the humidity is well past the operational limit of the tv components

Philips hdtv flatscreen for a spa

I was searching some for help with my GTW-L17M103. It too went black. I could not turn it off (power light was green). Thank goodness, I found your solution, except I need a little more help. I opened my monitor, removed the metal cover and found F3. I see what my daughter refers to a little "white bridge" with the letters FA2 or EA2. My questions are: Is this the correct part that needs to be replaced (2 amp fuse)? Where can I buy it? What instrument or tool do I need to replace the part? You mentioned you could not find a surface mount (not sure what that is), therefore you "piggybacked a 2 amp pico fuse on the blown one and it is working great". Where can I get a 2 amp pico fuse? I'm not a hardware guy but I'm not afraid to work on electronics. In advance, I thank you for this great service you provide via the forum.
