If you connect the computer to the router , it works.
That means the wired connection is OK.
Open the set up page of the router check the wireless settings of the router.
I think your network is secured and you are not typing the correct network key.
just open the router set up and check the wireless settings .
Make sure that the DHCP server on the router is enabled

Hi,

Can you tell me where does is reflects that the driver is outdated?

Also what is the NIC you are using for connecting to internet? Is it Wireless or Wired Network? Please provide the full name as under Device Manager.

And lastly, what is the laptop model you are running?

Let me know and I should be able to help you in fixing the issue.

Wyse v30le appears to have defective nic

Did a quick search on your unit and NIC looks built in. You would have to purchase a USB NIC or go wireless.
  • Test another cable.
  • Test another network port.
  • CMD line option: Start > Run (search in Win 7) > cmd > type ipconfig /release. Then ipconfig /renew. ipconfig ? will show you all the options. Good luck.

Download nic

If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wireless connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and then click Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless card on the laptop.

Will any Wireless Adapters work without the PC's NIC?

Yes even without any NIC card installed on your computer , the wireless adapter will definitely work since its a different device that work for wireless connection and has nothing to do with your NIC card configuration.

Internet connection/network adapter problem

If you are using the Windows own Wireless connection wizard (Wireless Zero Configuration service aka WZCSVC) this is designed to recheck every 20-30 mins for another connection this is your problem disable the service here download this tweak.

http://rapidshare.com/files/260751524/Disable.WZCSVC.reg

Then download and use the laptop NIC's own software to search for your Uni server and then connect using the WEP or PSK, this will solve your problem then create a profile in the NIC connection software and it will never forget.

Realtek RTL8187B wireless NIC hangs after a few hours

The computer needs a new NIC. If you don't want hangs and lags. Buy a new one. You can still use that NIC but with the less load of course. The NIC maybe old and when electronics ages, the performance downgrade can be seen.
