This is usually caused by a failed component in the power circuit within the camera and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

My camcorder will not charge the battery as long as it is hooked up to power cord it works

The battery is most likely at the end of its life. If the charger is able to run the camcorder with the battery installed, then the charger is most likely not the problem. You just need to pick up a new rechargeable battery.

One of the 2 battery does not work on camcorder.

some of those batteries come with a lid on the face side of the battery where u insert a power cord in order for the camcorder to get power from the battery. (strange........ I know). the battery mounts on the camcorder but acts as as an external source of power. a cord needs to be plugged into the battery and then int the ac adapter jack in order to send power.... that is if it is anything like my camcorder.

Jvc everio G power cord is broke

As a camcorder technician, I would not recomend to be too creative on charging the battery. The battery plays very important role in today's camcorder design. You need to use correct charging procedure or similiar 3rd party method. I would get one cheap at EBAY. I see over 200 listing under accessories for this camcorder. Good luck.

JVC Camcorder - used wrong power lead to charge battery

They sell external battery chargers for these for around 10 bucks at Amazon. Just pop the battery in the charger. Beware the battery itself can be worn down or dead. It also has protection circuits right inside the battery that can be blown (maybe a small fuse too). A new high capacity battery (3 times the recording time) is also at Amazon for around $25.

JVC EVERIO HYBRID GZ-MG330 Battery error?

I bought a replacement data battery BN-VF-808U from Digicowfish through Amazon.com. (?made by PomerPower).
It fits nciely to my JVC Everio GZ-MG330 which uses a BN-VF808U data battery. However, JVC gives a screen message:Communicating Error.
Now I have solved my Communication Error by using a jumper cable provided with the replacement battery BN-VF808U to connect the attached replacement battery to the camcorder. There is a DC input socket on the camcorder. There is also a DC input socket on the replacement battery for direct connection.

JVC GR-D350U Digital Video Camera "Communication Error"

Just found a workaround for the "cheap battery" problem. The problem is that there is some circuitry in the more expensive JVC batteries that the generics don't have. When this isn't detected by the camcorder, it won't function. It's a neat trick to make you buy the proprietary battery. Also suspecting that with the JVC battery, if the circuitry gets fried for some reason, the battery will no longer work. Well, the generic battery I have has a plug in the back of it so you can charge it with the JVC factory supplied charger. There was also a jumper cord supplied with the camcorder. Plug this in the back of your cheap battery, plug the other end into your DC port on your camera, and voila! You're in business. Downsides are that you have a short cord between the battery and camcorder and the battery indicator won't work so you'll need a spare.

JVC GR-D90 Camcorder Lens Cap Problem

Apparently this same problem exists on many different models. I have a JVC grd72u. I called JVC @ 800-252-5722. I selected the "Corrective Action Program" prompt from the automated attendent. I spoke to a customer service rep. They are aware of the problem and are fixing it for free, but only until 12/31/07. I suggest you call ASAP and get your name in the computer. If the problem is something besides the CCD sensor, they will call you with the estimate to repair.
