I sounds as if the printer is not reacting to the toner. You mention that you can scan but not print. Can you copy a document from the platen using the printer control panel? If you can then this would indicate that the toner is working OK and the problem is between the computer and the printer. If you can't then the toner cartridge may not be seated properly or is not recognised by the printer software. Is the cartridge Canon or a compatible?
If you go here you can find all the drivers and documentation for your machine by using the the drop down menus to select your OS and language: Canon SENSYS MF4320d
and you may be ableto use these to find out more about your problem.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Verify the toner cartridge.Open the glass platen cover and make a copy, not used an original,if the cpy is a full black papier thr toner density is OK,Clean the polygon unit glass.Enter in program and perform a test page.
Are you sure it was a full NEW toner cartridge?? Not an old one you had lying around.
If it was a new one the next question line goes as follows.... the machine will say in the display to "Rplace toner soon"...that dosn't mean its empty and to replace it..that means itsLOW and you should have a new toner cartridge "on-hand" because it will soon stop printing and say "REPLACE TONER". At that time the toner cartridge should be replaced, when it is installed a "fuse" on the cartridge blows and resets the toner light on the display. If you installed the toner cartridge when the display was saying "replace toner soon" you have blown the fuse in the new cartridge, now the machine has run about another 100 copies and says "replace toner"....but you now can't reset the light because the fuse is already blown because you may have replaced the cartridge too early!!! WHAT CAN YOU DO if that is the case...you can replace the fuse on the cartridge..its pretty easy to see, just replace it with another mini-fuse of the same rating written on the existing fuse..then put the cartridge in again..the fuse will blow, reset the light and away you will go. When all else fails read the operators manual.
That isnt unusual. The 8000 pages is for a page with 5 percent coverage area, or a rather short letter.
the 3600 to 4000 pages is not out of the ordinary for that machine, Although the xerox brand may work better, although not more copies, if you run pages with more than 5 percent of the page printed, that is about right.
Also there is no chip on a 4118 cartridge. The toner is monitored by a sensor and window in the middle of the cartridge. It shines light through the cartridge, and when the cartridge is empty the light actuates a light activated sensor.
it is not an efficient machine.
hi when the copiers shows that need toner it is becouse there is no toner in the mix of developer, this is caused by a wrong toner in the machine, check that the toner is the one the machine use there are few copiers like lanier that seems to use the same cartridge but change the gear that turns the toner in the machine, move manually the gear in the cartridge by looking that the toner actually it is ok, activate the motor that moves the toner cartridge and check thatis is moving, also check the gears on the developing unit becouse if any of them dont move the toner never get the sensor of the developer unit and shows the signal of lack of toner
Dear guys, your toner cartridge is low and as a preventive measure, the unit stores the faxes in order to give priority to copying and printing. If you are using remanufactured cartridges, the unit might not be displaying the low toner warning.
Toner and the drum is all one unit it is more likely that toner got onto the transfer roller and some near the fuser unit. Best thing to do is turn the machine off open the cover and remove the toner cartridge.
Then Hoover (vac) the inside with a soft brush and clean out all the loose toner. Once that is finished install toner cartridge a run about fifty sheets through to get rid of any other toner. Suggest installing a new toner cartridge as well.
