Port forwarding is very easy task with Router Commander program. Install it and this program will forward ports automatically. Router Commander speeds up slow Internet via router and prevents router from dropping connections also.

Cant get decent speeds from u torrent

Hello,

I recommend checking out http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Belkin/F5D7230-4/eMule.htm

This is a great tutorial on configuring port forwarding on your particular router. This example is for emule but it will be very similar to uTorrent. You will want to determine what port uTorrent is configured to send data on and use that accordingly.

Good luck!

it sounds like to emule client is hogging all your bandwidth. Try and limiting your emule client to only use 70% of your total bandwidth. If you don't know your internet speed, then go to www.speedtest.com and run a test

How to port forward using Dlink DI-524 for Emule?

DMZ is a feature that is included on some routers but is not in Internet sharing software. A DMZ allows a single computer on your LAN to expose ALL of its ports to the Internet. When doing this, the exposed computer is no longer ?behind? the firewall. Port Forwarding vs DMZ A DMZ is far easier to set up than port forwarding but exposes your entire computer to the Internet. Sometimes TCP/IP applications require very specialized IP configurations that are difficult to set up or are not supported by your router. In this case, placing your computer in the DMZ is the only way to get the application working. Placing a computer in the DMZ should be considered ?temporary? because your firewall is no longer able to provide any security to it.

Configure for emule

You must open ports on your router to allow incoming traffic while using eMule. eMule uses three ports*: 4662 (TCP) 4672 (UDP) 4711 (TCP) Visit eMule here. * To prevent getting a low ID (Firewalled), open additional TCP ports between 4661 and 4665. Also, limit the number of connections in the eMule software. You may need to change the TCP Clientport to something other than 4662.
