There is a problem with the cable connection probably.
try another cable and check if the problem still persists.
if it still persists open the sound cover and check the connections inside the box.

Why does my system cut off when there is a loud noise?

By loud noise I assume you mean in the movie you're watching or the CD you're listening to.
That's the protection circuit kicking in. Depending on how you have the player configured (audio levels, effects, mode....etc) it can "overdrive" the outputs and cause the protection circuit to energize.
If this happens a lot try changing the audio mode to something a little less (change speaker levels to a lower number, no bass boost or at least not as much, etc.).
Good luck.

My amplifier is making a very loud humming noise

Are you able to turn the hum up and down.If you can't then you have a leaky filter in your power supply. If you can turn it up and down then it sounds like one of your grounds are open.

Crackling noise on sound system

This could be a defunct sound driver when it saw the sound speakers. Go to the device manager and go to the multimedia controller and delete it. Restart the machine, it should call for the correct drivers. If it says cannot find drivers, go to www.driversguide.com, sign up, then query for the correct drivers for your sound

Sound

To everyone having sound trouble... there is a solution! First make sure your TV is OFF. Unplugg the 2 main cables going into the DVT 412 for 30 seconds. Then re-plugg them. Press down for a few seconds on all the BLACK tabs connecting the sound wires and release. Without a disc in the player... and the TV still OFF, turn the power on and immediatley hold the down the STOP button on the DVT412 for 5-10 seconds. Your picture, vocal and backround sound will return to normal. Feel free to make changes to the sound now! Happy tuning... GO STEELERS! LOL!
