Hi amd welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. Whirlpool has a website in France:
http://www.whirlpool.com/custserv/global_sites.jsp

The contact page is here:
http://www.whirlpool.fr/welink.crm/contactus/whr/fr_FR
(yes it is in French)

If you have to go to www.whirlpool.com using the 1st link and then choose Contact Whirlpool. (pop-ups enabled) Ask them where you can find a FRENCH retailer that sells door seals. FYI the average replacement door seals run in cost between $50 and $75 USD.

It may take 2 or 3 days but they are pretty good about answering back.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Kelly

How to remove doors of a whirlpool 6vmw47 top mount fridge/freezer

Hello Hicherringto,

I understand that you would like instructions on how to remove the doors on your fridge. Most common on top mount freezers/fridges you need to start at the top and work your way down.

1. Locate the freezer hinge top part where the door swings.
2. Remove the plastic cover over the henge. (top of the box if covered)
3. Remove the screws holding the henge in place.
4. Lift up on the henge
5. Open the freezer door and lift up (the door should lift off the bottom pin)
6. Open the Fridge door and remove the screws from the hinge that the freezer door sat on
7. Remove the hinge from the fridge door by lifting up
8. Open and lift up on the fridge door
9.Reinstall in reverse

That is the easiest way to remove the doors on a top mount freezer fridge. Note that when you reinstall the doors you will have to adjust the hinges so that the seals seal properly. The hinges have enough of a grove that you use them to adjust the doors.

Thank you for choosing FIxYa.com

Hi pgtc;
Just check and make shore the door seals are completely sealing. If air is been sucked into fridge it shall create water, same as freezer frost is created by air been sucked in.. Oh thats as long as the freezer is working -18deg.. Cheers

Whirlpool, water puddles on top shelf of fridge

If it is not from a plugged or misaligned defrost drain tube, then it is always from air leaking into your refer section. Check you door gasket to see if it is sealing correctly all around your door. Make sure your door is shutting tightly every time. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists.

Whirlpool Fridge/Freezer Door Seal Replacement. Model: ART 462/3

In short no as long as you get the correct seal type from a spares shop, or Whirlpool. Just make sure that it is straight and there are NO gaps or splits in it when you refit it. Usually these will come pre cut to size for the particular model of FF but you can also buy seal strip on a reel from many spares shops. Also when you have removed the old seal make sure that you use a degreasing cleaner to clean around where the old seal was located and make sure the area is dry before fitting the new one.

Refrigerator freezer freezes over every couple of week and gets all iced up. the refrigerator is a kirkland model number st18pkxhwoo

This could be one of two problems, either the thermostat is faulty and there's little control over temperature ( you'll know this if the fridge is always humming away and doesn't turn off very often) or, the gasket around the door is worn or damaged, il explain, if the fridge isn't air tight or at least the freezer box the moister in the air will condense as ice, hence if you leave a freezer door open it will freeze over in no time! Now the thermostat is made up of two parts, firstly there is a sealed metallic bulb which contains a heat sensitive gas, when the gas expands it shoots down a very thin pipe to a switch , hens the name thermostatic switch, now it is common for these to have a short shelf life as they are always on off on off! some fridges and freezers have an anti freeze over function ( called frost free) Check to see that your drip tray is free from water, the hole is clear that the water drains down (usually at the back, and try and keep food which contains alot of water sealed and not just open, that should cut down the amount of water in the fridge. Drying clothes in your home causes alot of excess moisture in the air also. Good Luck the Yeti

Everything freezes in bottom of refrigerator

Check that all seals are completely sealed, especially the freezer door. If the freezer door leaks, the bottom of fridge will constantly be cold. Also, check the flap in the inside back. It controls the air between freezer and fridge. It may be putting more air flow to fridge rather than freezer. The cold air will sink low and keep the drawer are colder.
