First of all Tell them you paid and you never got assistance and if they refuse tell them that you will get a lawyer (I wouldn't actually get a lawyer) that will most likely get them to refund you. Now You can e-mail me at 4077mashunit@gmail.com and if you want I can solve your problem from my computer from a screen sharing software I have and you will get the virus removed without paying $99.

I have been reading where XP is susceptible to malware and virus because it is not as safe as vista or windows 7. My question is: Dis this computer come with a free upgrade from XP to the nexr os?

I'm sorry but Microsoft does not provide free upgrades for your computer.
However, the security difference between XP and Vista is not far apart. As long as you have a good anti-virus program, you will be all set.
My recommendations, purchase a paid version of anti-virus for stronger protection such as : Prevx 3.0 antivirus
If you prefer a good free anti-virus (not as good as paid versions), use Microsoft Security Essentials.

Please tell me whichanti virus is best for my PC

That's like asking which car company is best or which cell phone company. Ten people would give you ten different answers.

There's a couple free ones that are some what highly regarded: AVG Free is beloved many people as is MS Security Essentials.

I couldn't speak to the quality of paid solutions like McAfee or Norton as I haven't used them in many years. As long as you have something it should be better than nothing at all!

Antivirus System PRO virus.

Hello and thank you for using Fixya!

Purchase a flash drive (a cdrom will not work for this) and back-up your data on the thumb drive. I would recommend an 8 gig as to fit all your files.

Place the flash drive in the new computer and scan it immediately with the Norton.

By the way, there is one great software that will save the old computer and it only cost 30 dollars. I use it to kill this Rogue on all my customers computers and it takes me 10 minutes to get rid of it. Definetly worth the purchase!

Hi, I bought a Norton AntiVirus package on July 31, 2008. I was infected with a Virus called VirusResponse Alert on Sunday, November 2, 2009. I looked on line for a support number from Norton and a 24...

I suggest that the only people who can answer your questions are the people at Norton. Obviously, I wouldn't ring that phone number again, because you will only get the same people you have already spoken to. I suggest that you WRITE to the Manager at Norton. (You'll find their address on their paperwork) and tell them everything that happened, and ask them the questions you want answered. And then you'll be in a position to know whether they deserve your business or not, and whether or not you have what you paid for, and if not, what they are going to do about it. Ask if they will give a refund if you have not got what you paid for. And I think that if you got a Virus while you were supposedly protected by their product, then you definitely Didn't get what you expected to.

Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.1 not working

Could be spyware or a virus. Try this.........If this does not help let me know.

Turn the system restore off. System restore keeps everything in restore. Meaning......... If you have spyware or a virus, it will stay in your system. Run Spybot S&D (This program is free and is better than using msconfig as long as you go through the settings and change everything to the highest settings.) Then do the same with Adaware 2008 (sounds stupid to use 2 things for spyware, but one catches what the other one does not.). I have links on my website (tandnfamilyelectronics-online.com). These links go directly to the download so you will not get the run around. You would do good to try a program called Window Washer. This is a great program that completely cleans anything in your computer that you do not need. It will not clean out anything that you have to have. I have used this for years to clean out my customers computers and have cleaned as much as 3 gigs of trash out. If you contact me I will give you some tools that I have for free that will do a great job on your computer. I have them ready to download and I will give you the link. Read disk error occured during rebooting

The acer recovery software sometimes has it's glitches. The CD might be fine, its just the data that wa written to the disk @ time of recovery creation was corrupt at some point.

If your machine shuts down randomly there can be only 3 possible solutions to this one:
  1. Your battery from your laptop has an issue. Try letting the laptop run on AC power ONLY.
  2. Your CPU is overheating, caused by a broken or unresponsive CPU heat sink fan, which causes your pc to shutdown (will always auto- shutdown at a certain temperature to prevent damage to the CPU. Check if you can feel "air" coming out of your laptop, suppose to be a hatched outlet at the side or at the back or on the top cover.
  3. You have a Virus that is shutting down the pc when it wants to. NO Operating system issue can cause your PC to shutdowb; only a virus can do that.
Summary, check your battery, check if your CPU fan is running, and make a virus scan (if the pc doesnt shut down). Remember to make a backup of your DATA, cause Acer (i dont think they will) don't do backups. Waranty on Acers is usually 3 years, depending on the country. So they should replace and repair, everything.
