SOURCE: GE Dishwasher Leaks

You can easily screw up the drain diverter arm trying to replace that seal. Repair is difficult. Pump assembly is rather expensive. (especially considering this was not a top of the line model) You would be much better off replacing the dishwasher. The new GE models are much quieter and have eliminated the center tower in almost all models.

SOURCE: GE 24in GSD980X Dishwasher water leak in pump &motor area

I had the same problem. There is no way of replacing seal/joint between pump and motor. It can't be taken apart w/o destroying parts, it only comes as an assembly. Costs around 130$ for pump/motor assy, so it might not be worth it.

SOURCE: WIRLPOOL DISHWASHER COLD WATER CLEAN ONLY!!!

HI Nick- the element in the dishwasher dries the dishes and sometimes boosts the heat of the water. Your water should come in already hot, so the problem is either your hot water heater or that the plumbing line was switched to cold by mistake. Or that people are bathing, laundering, etc. and using all available hot water right before you run the dishwasher.

SOURCE: Maytag dishwasher model # DWU7402AAB leaking

Hi,

Here is the part and they will have instructions with the part.....

http://www.partselect.com/PartDetail.aspx?Inventory=2097154&SourceCode=12

You will have to remove the motor and it is possible that you will need more parts such as the pump and drain impellers as they will usually break when you try to remove them.

Dishwasher leaking from bottom

If you are sure this is not coming from the door, then it is probably leaking from the pump. The motor is outside the dishwasher and the pump is inside. The shaft of the motor has to turn the pump, so there is a seal that the motor shaft goes through. You might be able to replace just the seal, or maybe the whole pump or maybe the whole motor/seal/pump assembly. This can be fixed by a handyperson with some serious skills. Parts are available on-line. But it has to start with a pretty serious dis-assembly. The price you would pay to have this professionally fixed is up there comparable to a new cheap dishwasher. Good luck!

Magic Chef DU55CA-01 unit runs but when pump kicks on for discharge cyle water leaks on the floor from the what appears to be the solenoid part. The leaking stops as soon as the pump turns off. What part...

Leaking from drain valve shaft seal. If you just replace the seal it may still leak. Replacing the pump is a lot of work and not really worth it to cure a small leak.

The problem is usually a leaky shaft seal kit, shown here as Items 7 and 8 (click the pic for the larger, annotated view).

Fortunately, the shaft seal kit is inexpensive; but it can be a ****** to install, depending on how much rust you’re dealing with. May require a destructive removal of the impeller, too, but ain’t no thang ‘cuz the shaft seal kit comes with a new impeller. Here’s a nice, purdy picture of a brand new shaft seal kit. And just to help motivate you a little more, the money you save from replacing just the shaft seal vs. replacing the entire motor-pump assembly is well over a Benjamin. So you go ahead and drill, cut, and chisel all you want on that old impeller!
