If you go to www.sewusa.com there is a threading diagram for a model 758 and maybe it will answer some of your questions. A hard copy of you manual is available from www.singerco.com but it is $15, but it will be worth it because it will tell you how to oil it and everything. Good luck

Why is the fabric bunching into the bobbin when embroidering with the Singer Futura

bobbin thread is too high pressure or too low pressure on teh top adjustment!

remove bobbin and turn tension screw about 1/8turn left (anticlockwise) check if still grabbing, if so - top thread turn about 1/4 turn (at embroidery ir should do automatically, but sometimes need kick...).

check if it is still grabbing on the bottom, do it grab during straight? zigzag? double zigzag? if do not - setting on the pattern need to be look at. if it tangle as well on these three - need definitely servicing...

follow manual how to adjust.

Singer 4411 sews fine forward and reverse in straight stitch, in zigzag top thread looks fine on top, but all loopy underneath and will only reverse stitch 1 or 2 zigs or zags

check that the bobbin underneath has the same thread as the upper bobbin and that you push all the way on the lever when sewing back and also, go full speed as this happened to me and that was my mistake. Hope this will help you :)

Threading a bobbin diagram

I LOVED these Touch and Sew machines! The bobbin is wound in place in the bobbin case; you just flip a lever on the left, and it will start to fill. However, you should download your instruction manual free from the Singer Sewing Machine site; it's pictured and discussed on page 7.

A heads up, though; those bobbins were available with a metal piece in the center and without; from the drawing it appears that yours takes the one without anything but a hole in the center. I owned BOTH types of machines at the same time once, and I had to be careful as to which bobbin I used in which machine.

I cannot get tight tension on zigzag underneath stitch on my singer 3221

There are a couple of things to check. First, did you thread with the presser foot UP, so that proper tension is applied to the upper thread? Is your bobbin correctly inserted, and is your bobbin case inserted evenly and correctly? Review your user's manual--if you don't have it, you can download it free at the Singer website.

If you have done these things, you may need to adjust your bobbin tension. First, run a line of straight and then zigzag stitches on a scrap of fabric and take a look. It helps to have two different colors of thread, with the fabric a third color. If one side of the zigzag looks fine and the other side looks like "chicken tracks," the chicken tracks side is too tight. In other words, you need to determine whether your bobbin tension needs to be tighter or looser.

You'll need a very tiny straight-slot screwdriver. Remove the needle plate--there are two screws in it--and remove the bobbin and then the bobbin case. On the side, there are two tiny screws. One is a Phillips--leave that one alone. The other is a straight-screw, and that one regulates the bobbin tension. The rule is "righty-tighty, lefty-loosey." Only turn it 1/4 turn, then reinsert and test. If you're on the right track, you should see at least a LITTLE improvement. DON'T do any more than that--if you don't do this carefully and systematically, you'll make things worse instead of better!

Top thread bunches

try changing the needle--use a needle according to the fabric
being sewed
if thin fabric is being sewed try using a stablizer
rethread the machine top and bobbin--use every thread guide
make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly and turned correctly
in the bobbin case
also try adjusting the top thread tension just a little

Singer stylist 7258, will only pick up bobbin on one side when doing zigzag stitch

try using a washable stablizer or interfacing.
if that doesn't help then it's possible that a gear or cam may be worn enough to cause the machine zig zag not to work properly

I was doing fine zigzag, ran out of bobbin thread did not change any thing and now the thread bunches on the bottom and the machine does not advance. Bobbin casing pop up also this is a 774 model

Hi there,

Well The most probable cause of the lower thread breaking is an improperly wound bobbin. Regardless of where you wind the bobbin, inside the machine, on the top of the hand wheel or on the front side near the hand wheel, the basic "bobbin" rules apply.

** Always start with an empty bobbin. Never wind one color over another color.
** Don't wind the bobbin so full that it would be tight and hard to insert into the bobbin case. Most machines have an automatic "shut off" when the bobbin gets full, but if yours does not, be careful not to fill it too full.
** Wind the bobbin evenly across and in level layers.
** Never mix different sizes of thread in the bobbin and on the spool, unless you're doing sewing machine embroidery or some specialty type of sewing. Using different weights of thread on the spool and in the bobbin for general sewing will cause ragged stitches as well as other stitching problems.
So clean all the threads and do it work from start.........
Please reply ......
Thanks

Singer/merritt 2430 bobbin fill

If you lift up the thread holder, the bobbin holder is inside. Loosen the hand guide to stop the needle from going up and down. Pull the thread around the top thread guide and back into the bobbin holder. Thread the bobbin and move the bobbin over so the guage is "inside" the bobbin. As for the manual, the Singer Merritt 2404 is applicable to the 2430 if that helps.

Machine will not zigzag

Depends on what kind of machine you have. Most of the time incorrect threading is the problem. The needle may be not be tightened in properly, or you may not have selected the correct sequence for zig-zag. Hope this helped a little.
