When you fill the soldering iron with butane you must have it turned so the butane can is held upside down. Liquid butane must be able to flow into the iron. It's most likely that you held it upright and even though gas butane would have flowed in it would not be enough to light it. Only fill it outdoors.

Misplaced Manual, what butane container to get.

Any butane will work, but the big name-brands are usually filtered better and less likely to cause problems. The biggest issue is the nozzle -- there are a lot of different sizes. Any Weller butane can will fit perfectly (usually cheapest at the local Sears store), but any can with multiple adapters will also work.

If you have an old can that fits, save the nozzle when it's empty. It should fit a different can if you can't find a can that fits the tool.

My Pyropen will not ignite

Not enough information. That's an extremely vague description of the problem. There's no way to suggest a fix without knowing more about it.

Does it spark?
Does butane come out of it?
Is the cylinder full?
Do the switches move properly?
How old is it? How much use has it seen?
Is it an intermittent problem, or constant?

It is a cordless soldering iron by Bernzomatic that uses butane to work

I am familiar with many models of butane powered soldering irons made by Benzomatic. Please let me know what your model and question is.

Torch has excessive gas flow at the lowest setting.

With empty tank you can try to unscrew the black parts and clean or tighten the regulating lever.

Old Victorian Light fixture needs to be repaired. I think soldering the broken parts together would work, but I've never soldered brass parts (only simple electronic motherboards). Anyone out there that...

to solder brass u just use regular solid solder with a tin of acid flux, but u must use a Small butane fueled pin torch or a large high temperature solder iron to do the heating (this really depends on the size of the material being soldered), the brass must be clean and bright, use steel wool for this these small torches are available from any hardware store, they fuel up with butane cartridges used for refilling cigarette lighters
