Question about Refrigerators

Open Question

I have a Waeco HDC-270 installed on a boat. MY model has three lights Green, Red & Orange on the top edge of the fridge, also a push button. My freezer keeps turning off, when this happens the Red light goes off. I can't find any instructions manuals that are the same as my fridge. Can you let me know what these lights are for, and can I turn the freezer back on by pushing these buttons etc. Hoping you can help. Regards Rosanne.

SOURCE: Always dispenses CRUSHED ice

try removing the ice bucket, and on the back wall is a hole approx 1.5 inches square that the brass bar attached to the rear of ice container inserts into,(you may have to put hte container back in partilaly to look under and watch where it slides into) inside thatcut-out is a plunger that slides up and down activating the crushed/cubed option.you can sick you finger in the hole you should seee a plastic hoop that would catch the brasss bar.Try pushing and pulling hte hoop up and down if it does not move freely, youll need to replace the solenoid assy. if it does, then pull allthe way to the lowest positon and make sure when replacing the ice container that the bar falls with in the hoop itself

SOURCE: over temperature reset button keeps ringing and blinking

I called the KitchenAid customer support number. Found out that control goes off when the temperature of the fridge is above 48 degrees (i.e., over a few days, the food would be spoiling). This is not the case for ours, since everything seems to be working fine. They said there is probably something malfunctioning with that button/control, and there is no manual turn-off mechanism. We have to call someone to come and fix it.

How do I program the jamo torsten sound bar to my remote control?

Great product, horrible instructions that focused on every language known to man rather than clear steps. Hope this helps....for the JAMO TORSTEN 2 WAY SOUNDBAR W/ WIRELESS 10" SUB 360 Series, as well as other Klipsch soundbars.

If the SoundBar is in STANDBY mode (solid RED status light), push the <SOURCE> button on the SoundBar until the status light is solid GREEN.

STEP ONE (Place the unit in learning mode): With the status light showing solid GREEN, press and hold the <SOURCE> and <MUTE> buttons on the front of the SoundBar at the same time (approximately 3 seconds) until the status light flashes RED and GREEN.

STEP TWO (Select the function to learn): Press the <MUTE> button once on the SoundBar (the status light changes to solid ORANGE).

STEP THREE (Learn the function): Hold your remote control within one foot and pointed at the front of the SoundBar. Slowly press the <MUTE> button on your remote control four times. On the first three presses, the status indicator light will flicker ORANGE with each press. If the unit has successfully learned the function, on the fourth press of the button, the light will flash GREEN several times and then turn to solid GREEN.

To program the remaining functions, simply repeat all steps, substituting <MUTE> with the new function and button presses (VOLUME UP, and VOLUME DOWN) on steps TWO and THREE.

SRS580DW Water filter indicator red light is on. Where in the fridge do I find it to take it out to replace pleace?

Resetting the water filter indicator light can also be found in the user manual for your SRS580DW Refrigerator User Manual page 8 The water filter indicator initially lights up green. Press the ICE TIMER and ICE MODE buttons at the same time for about three seconds to reset the water filter installation date. • The green light changes to orange after five months to indicate that you should soon change the water filter. It changes to red after an additional one month (six months after the water filter was changed or installed) to indicate that you must change the water filter. • If you wish to turn off the filter indicator lamp or the filter is not connected, press the ice timer & ice mode button simultaneously for 5 seconds. If you wish to turn on the filter indicator lamp again, press the ice timer & ice mode button simultaneously for 3 seconds. Click Here for the SRS580DW User Manual I am here should you have questions Thanks Sea Breeze

How do I change the Waste Ink collector on a Pixma MP170?

Cleaning or changing the pad is a messy project. This ink pad reset will reset the printer ink use conter to new status and your pad full message will be gone. This is a common occurance with Canon printers and the fix causes no harm. I reset my own MP470 about two years ago without incident.

This reset has been sucessful on many MP150 and simular units and should work on your MP170.
The second works on models with different control pads simular to theMP470.

1. Press & hold stop/reset button, and then press & hold [ON/OFF] button.
2. When Green power lit, leave stop/reset button & press twice stop/reset (see orange indicator).

4. Press stop/reset 4 times (see orange indicator) if not blink restart above process from top.
5. After press stop/reset 4 times successful press On/Off button 3 times. printer will off.

Double sided printing - 1st side, no problem 2nd side - instructions said to push down orange button. Button does not release - both green and red lights are blinking - does not print. I have gone...

I have the same problem as the original poster in that the orange button goes down when pressed but then slips just a little to the side and won't come back up.
I've made it come up by pounding on the case next to the button with my fist, by jiggling the button with the eraser end of a pencil (usually resulting in it ruining the printing of the booklet I am trying to print by printing a test page), by grasping the side of the top casing near the button and trying to flex it, and by using a pocket knife to try to make the button's hole bigger in the casing. It finally got so bad that nothing I would do would make the button work.
So I took the top off and found out that the "orange button" has an offset part that is what actually contacts the switch, and that the orange plastic part is mounted in a clear plastic piece which also acts as the lens portion for the red and green lights. The clear plastic piece is attached to the cover with two screws.
Over time, the clear plastic piece had broken in half, allowing the part holding the orange button to swivel. This initially was what would cause the button to get hung up under the hole and not able to come back up, and eventually through all my efforts to make it come up it moved the portion of the orange button that contacts the actual switch far enough that it no longer would make contact.
Three possible fixes: 1. Order a new clear plastic piece from Samsung. 2. Glue the clear plastic piece back together and hope it holds. 3. Go the ugly but sure route of removing the broken part of the clear plastic piece along with the orange button and spring, and cut the top open between the button hole and the edge so that the actual switch can be reached.
I chose number 3: This will void your warranty, but mine was way out of warranty anyway.
First, I turned the printer off and unplugged the power cord.
I took off the top, by opening the front panel of the printer where the toner cartridge is installed, then removing the two screws that hold the front of the top down. Then it was a matter of daring to break the plastic of the top panel in freeing the plastic tabs so that the panel could be removed.
I found that by lifting the front until the side tabs gave way and then removing the hinged cover where the paper comes out, I was able to finagle the top off without damaging anything. It probably would be easier to remove by taking the screws out of the black rear cover and so forth, but this worked.
Next, with the cover removed and turned upside down, I removed the screw holding the broken portion of the clear plastic piece and removed it along with the orange button and spring. I left the other half in place so that it would transmit the light properly for the red and green lights.
Then, taking my trusty Leatherman tool, I used the saw blade to open up the area between the button hole and the outside edge of the top. I used the Leatherman's file to smooth off the rough edges.
Next, I reassembled the printer (this was probably the hardest part - and at this point is when I realized that taking the back off would maybe make things easier, but if you aren't afraid to torque the plastic a bit it will all snap back into place), plugged it back in and fired it up.
I printed a test booklet. First side printed normally, the red light came on as it should. I removed the paper and reinserted it, then used a pencil to reach in and press the switch. Success! The second side then printed!
The problem is solved! The printer looks a bit worse for wear, with a big hole where the button used to be, but that is of little matter to me.
Because there may be a danger of electric shock, I would advise that if you choose this repair method you use a pencil or other stylus to reach in and press the button on the switch instead of using your finger.
You may find that it will take a bit more pressure than you think it will to actually trigger the switch.
