Hi how are you? i am attempting to put a JVC KD-SX990 CD player into my 2002 ford explorer. are the accessory wire is the same as the switch? and the constant wire is the same as the Battery wire? what is the remote(max 200mA)? Thanks Dwayne
If you have a wiring harness al the wires are color coded to match the after market radios colors. the yellow constant wire goes to 12 volt or battery wire. the accessory wire would be the red wire that is the switched 12 volts. the remote is for the factory amp or an aftermarket amp which turns on and off it would be the blue with white wire.

The yellow wire is most likely the memory wire as it needs to be connected to a constant 12 volt source.
"Hook red wire to to acc fuse" means you need to hook into the fuse block under an Accessory Fuse. (ie: something that can't be turned on unless the car is running or the key is in the "Accessory" position)
The red wire is explained above. It does not connect to the harness.
Just remember that the yellow wire needs to be hooked to a constant 12 volts and the red needs to be hooked to a circuit that is only active when the car is running or switched to the "ACC" position.
Get a wiring plug kit. These are available at any Walmart. They are specific for your vehicle make and not the radio. Radio manufacturers typically use all of the same colors so this should be a matter of matching color to color straight forward. Double check this with yoru radio manufacturer schematic before applying power to the radio.
The harness looks like what is depicted on this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/JVC--16-PIN-WIRE-HARNESS-FOR-CD-PLAYER-BLACK-BRAND-NEW_W0QQitemZ370214069143QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090612?IMSfp=TL090612198008r8862 This
connector fits the following JVC Car Radio/CD/MP3 Players with
16 pin connection.
All wires are labeled. Hope this helps....................sodeep
Hi I disconnected the battery and but that on charge i removed the radio and checked all the wireing and i think what i may have found when the guy who installed it in the first place, when he was putting the radio in place with the wiring the jack plug to the remote stalk control had come detached.
did you check the fuse on the back of the radio. it should be a small maxi fuse that might be rated any where from 5 to 20 amps. most of the time it might be helpful to unplug the radio harness and re plug it after 1 minute.
