Question about HP Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

When my Dell desktop blew a motherboard, I purchased a Mac Mini, which will not "talk" to my OfficeJet G85 (purchased about 5 years ago). I called you folks, and paid to have you send me a driver. I got the disk, but the two machines still won't "talk." I have tried to talk to real people on the phone several times tonight, but someone always transfers me, then I get cut off. I am angry!! Can you make these two machines communicate with each other? Thank you. Ron Bonar OfficeJet G85 - S/N SGG25E096C

I don't know who you called to get your drivers but here's the HP Support page for your printer listing all the operating systems they support.

Maybe they sent you the wrong driver.

Purchased OfficeJet G55 10 Years ago . how do I get driver updates? Registerd this product with different email and cannot remember it

You need to have a look here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?l=en-us&type=Hardware&s=OfficeJet%20G55

If you are using Windows 7, your machine will not operate.

You can check the manufacturers web site if you are using a different Operating System ... it is an old printer, however.

Your printer should still be under warranty.
Either take it back to the place where you purchased it or call HP. Their number should be in your manual.

Installation

Go to the hp website and go to support and drives and at set 1 click on the download drivers section then enter 5610 in set 2 and you will be able to download the appropriate software and drivers. I suspect you will want HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Drivers - Mac OS X v10.3.9, v10.4 and v10.5
Hope this helps.

My HP470 OFFICEJET refuses to print

Hi there,
I did manage to solve the problem in the end.  As it seemed to be a communication problem, I restarted my Mac (as opposed to switching off the printer and on again) and it worked!!
Might need you some time in the future though....
Thanks, S Walsh

Continue to receive "Remove and check black cartridge" message

I would call hp again. The cartridge you purchased is covered for a one year warranty and they should be able to replace to make sure issue is not with the cartridge itself. Since this is not a computer issue tell them you have a mac and you will get to Canada support instead of India.
