Question about Brother DCP 130C All-In-One InkJet Printer

Brother dcp-130C Hello there, Printer claims that cartridges are all empty but when I removed them they are 1/4 full all of them. What can I do. Thanks Manuel

    Hello, my problem with the dcp 130c is that it shows up with black cartridges is empty. Please exchange and install black cartridge again.

    Doiing so does not solve the problem. It keeps coming up with the same message. Pulling out the power and starting up without cartridges was the option Brother gave me, to set up a clean install. Didn't work. There are sensors to detect the inkt level in each cartridge. The fact that the black inkt cartridge level is 0 shows that this system doesn't recognise the cartridge at all. What can I do about it. I bought a lot of original cartridges in front and now the printer stops working. Does anybody has an idea.

Ignore what the printer says.. carry on using it until you SEE the ink has run out.

Hi There, I have a brother DCP-130c printer and one of the colour ink has run out. I need to be able to print with just black. Is there a way to print without replacing colour ink?


When you click on print, click on print preferences. As shown in image below.

On the preferences window click on Paper Quality tab and click on black and white. As shown below.

Click on OK and then click on print.



Note: Few new printers wont print till you replace the empty cartridges.

Hi, i have DCP 130C printer have been installed all cartridges but still it's asking ink empty block and all..

I have replaced my empty ink cartrages, but when i have put in the new ones, the screen still comes up with they are empty please replace, how can i solve this problem. this is for a brother dcp-130c


two possibilities, first check to make sure the inks are really there. take the cartridges out and look at the little plastic window on the cartridge and see if you see ink. if you dont, you will need to get a new cartridge again, if you do see the ink, most likely the sensor board is damaged. Usually this damaged because of generic ink.

I use to refill my brother dcp-130c printer cartridge.but now it shows black cartridge empty also colour cartridges near empty..after I purchace new black cartridge also same messahe appears..pls help me...


the electronic on your printer, the one that detects the black cartridge might be dirty, try cleaning it with some tissue. if that doesn't work, try removing the installation of your printer and then install it back again. if you have any other black cartridge, put it in the printer and try printing. If a page comes out, even if it's blank, then it's the black cartridge that has an issue. try that and let me know.

Not printing


  • If you replaced an ink cartridge before the LCD shows Near Empty or Ink Empty, the LCD will ask you to verify that it was a brand new one. (For example, Did You Change Blck?) For each new cartridge you installed, press up navigation key or 1 or "+" to select Yes to automatically reset the ink dot counter for that color. If the ink cartridge you installed is not a brand new one, be sure to press the down navigation key or 2 or "-" to select No.

    Brother DCP-130C Printer.. not Printing.... When i give command from computer


    try to reinstall the usb drivers. Delete before by help of the agressive remover which is part of the install cd (you have to open the cd).

    Connect printer directly to usb of pc . DO NOT use a hub.
