Question about LG DLE3777 Electric Dryer

Open Question

MY LG DLE5977W at first would have trouble turning the drum. If I gave it a "push" (manually turned the drum from the inside, about half a turn), and then started the dryer, it would run normally. This continued for a few weeks, and last night it just stopped working altogether. I'd turn it on, and after a few seconds it would shut off automatically. There was a burning smell (not electrical, more like hot clothes) from the inside of the dryer. I cleaned it all out and made sure the lint was removed from the inside of the dryer (even removed the drum) and when I try to use it, it will continue to turn off after a few rotations of the drum. The "cooling" light is on as well. No error codes were generated during a diagnostic test.

SOURCE: Dryer won't work, Check Filter light is on

I had exactly the same problem with my newish LG dryer. I deduced that the dryer's computer essentially needed to be rebooted. I pulled the plug for a minute or so, then plugged it back in. It works perfectly now.

SOURCE: LG Gas dryer doesn't dry clothes in one cycle

Have you checked your outside vent while it was running to see if the dryer was venting 100%. If your clothes are hot and humid I would say clean your vent pipe has a blockage and needs to be cleaned out. Also as far as the burning smell you could take the front off (unplug first) the dryer of by removing 4 screws one above and one below the latch and two at the bottom and there are two clips one at the top left and right push in with a puddy knife and lift the top up a couple inches and lift the front up off the bottom holders. Then you will have access to vacuuming the lint that is floating around the burner.

SOURCE: LG DLE2514w electric dryer has loud thud every turn

Hi,
Most model dryers are supported at thge rear of the drum with a bearing configuration, but usually the front of the drum is supported by some lining pads or guides. These help hold the rotation of the drum concentric. It sounds like your drum is not spinning concentric. My guess would be that some new guides might need to be installed.
Hope this helps...

My LG DLG2526W gas dryer wont start

I had a problem like this and our fix was to reach in and turn the drum a half a turn and push the start button. it worked for us because the motor had a dead spot on motor and once moved pass that spot, it did its job. you may have a different problem but, try it.

Dryer makes loud humming noise but drum doesn't turn when I push start.

Check to see if the drum will turn by hand. If so, leave the door open but push the light switch button down and start the unit. Once you hear the humming sound, manually turn the drum with your hand to start. If the drum turns normally, you have a bad motor and needs to be replaced. If the drum does not turn, something is jamming the motor and needs to be disassembled and inspected.
Good luck

Drum won't turn-belt is good-motor

If you can manually turn the drum, the motor's start windings may be bad.

If you can't get the drum to move, check to see if a sock or other small item is stuck between the drum and the inside of the front of the dryer. If you see nothing, it's possible that one or more of the four drum rollers is/are seized.

LG DLE5977W electric dryer hums when attempting to restart

This is usually the motor but not always. Remove the belt. Check for obstructions in the blower fan housing. Manually rotate the shaft of the motor.
If the motor is very stiff, or impossible to rotate manually, and the blower fan housing is clear, you need to replace the motor. If the motor rotates freely, run the motor momentarily with the belt removed and the blower in place. If the motor runs fine with the belt removed, there may be a problem with the idler pulley or the clothes drum. Try to rotate the drum by hand. If it is very difficult to move, correct any problem with the rollers, pulley, rear bearing, then reassemble the dryer and try it again. If the motor hums but doesn't rotate on its own even with the belt removed--yet you can turn it freely by hand--you usually need to replace the motor or the motor start capacitor. Dryer drum does not turn

look on The back of the dryer. If their isn't a removeable back panel then lay dryer down and look inside for the belt or pulleys. One or both are probably bad.
