I just got my Garmin Nuvi 760. Took 1 trip to Canada. No problem. Now I am in the US. I cannot get the satellite connection. Did update the softwares. Same problem.

My Garmin Nuvi 360 suddenly stopped being able to find the satellites. It says "trouble tracking satellites". Sometimes, after 10 minutes or more, it will find the satellites but lose them again shortly after.

Same problem. Happened without warning. Purchased in June 2007 and the problem happened on Feb.12, 2009. Same questions ... Are you indoor/outdoor ... Moved hundreds miles ... Current date. I'll try with upgrading software.

I had a problem with my Nuvi 360 that it couldn't find the satellites. I couldn't solve the problem with resets or updated software, but a new, external antenna that plugs into the side of the folding antenna seems to have solved the problem. Available from Wireless Finest through Amazon.com - like $11.50. Great solution - can't beat the price.

If you have already updated the firmware and the version of your GPS software in the System/About menu shows as something other than 0.0
Try inserting a small wire into the external antenna port that is on the side of the built in antenna.
I used a cat 5 cable that I had torn apart.
A few feet long should simulate an external antenna.
For me this got the internal antenna to work again.
For others this signifies that you may need to use an external antenna.
Apparently nuvi's have a tendency to stop working with internal antennas.

Did you check to make sure that it is not in demo mode?
I've seen complaints that the unit is not working, and it was in demo mode.

If everything is set up properly and it still does not work, you will most likely have to send it to Garmin in the US.

The touch screenon my Garmin Nuvi 600/650 won't work. What can i do?

This is a common problem with units having the serial numbers beginning with "14V", "12P" and "143". It's caused by a defective SHARP touchscreen and needs to be replaced. Please see this link for more info:

Garmin Nuvi 660 cannot acquire satellites

Hi I had this problem and its an antenna fault, give garmin a call and see if yours is still under warranty, if it is they will tell you to take it back to the retailor who will call garmin for a RA Number and they will replace it there and then. If your warranty has run out then call garmin to ask about repairs
