Question about Garden

1 Answer

I have a Husqvarna 323L line trimmer, I replaced the fuel filter and lines. I'm trying to put the pull starter back on and it seems to be lined up correctly but when I pull the cord it makes and noise as if it is slipping and the line won't retract.

I replaced the fuel lines but I had to remove the pull start housing to get to them. When i put the pull start back on it has a white plastic piece sort of shaped like an eight that fits into a similar piece that is one the back of the engine. They fit together and there is a small black tad pole shaped piece that is inside the metal piece ont he back of the engine. I can get them together but the pull cord with clunk when pull and then wont retract until I remove it.

I didn't take any of that apart, all I did was remove the housing that contains the pull handle and then attempt to replace it. Does that small tadpole shaped thing have to be in a certain position or should it work if it all meshes together/

Is the line you speak of the one that won't retract? I can't imagine you'd replace that line, but maybe so, please clarify.
Thanks Tim

Ah that makes more sense. Well the central pulley mechanism is definitely not lined up correctly, I hope it isn't something internal. Your best bet will be to take it apart and try repositioning all pieces of the pulley mechanism.... It sounds like the middle piece is on backwards.

Give it a try, let me know if it's the same result.

    Thanks

It should definitely work in any position, try opening and repositioning it, it can't get any worse at this point.

    Thanks

Routing of fuel lines on a husqvarna weedeater carburator 323L

The fuel line from the tank ( the one with the fuel filter on the end ) goes to the car inlet ( the one nearest to the pump cover held with a single cross head screw) the other connection on the car goes to the purge bulb ( the connection with the shorter tube) the other connection on the purge bulb ( longer connection) goes back to the fuel tank. The thing to remember is the bulb pulls fuel from the carb, into the bulb and delivers back to the tank.

How to change the fuel lines in the 128 Ld Husqvarna Trimmer

Buy some new fuel line then put the line in from the motor side into the tank and feed up and through the opening on the tank. Then you can put on a new filter with a tiny clamp then put it back into the tank making sure the filter is resting on the bottom.

How to change fuel line on Husqvarna Trimmer 128L

They are juat a pull in fitting. Get access to the fuel tank, the broken fuel line should just pull out the tank. The new full line goes back in through the top, just pull through into the tank until the hole in the tank sits between the 2 flanges on the fuel line.

Husqvarna 323L Line Trimmer - Runs for about 5-10 seconds,

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:

Youwillneed to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner.Makesure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to seedaylightthrough it.)

Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.

If you need further assistance on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement

Just let me know.

323L Husqvarna trimmer

This sounds like the carb needs to be adjusted like it is letting to much fuel into the cylinder. There is supposed to be fuel and air mixture in the cylinder to make it fire. If there is to much fuel what will happen is that it will just build up in there and the air wont get hot enough as it compresses to start the engine.

Clean the carburator, check fuel stems making sure they're not screwed in to far or bent. Buy a new choke assembly and new fuel filter.
