SOURCE: Need door assembly diagram to

While I don't have that model's diagram, normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

Normally the problem is not the spring, but a broken spring mounting tab on the door latch head (hook) assembly or the inner door panel.

If it's the door panel, it's usually easier and cheaper to use epoxy and some kind of hardware to fashion a new spring mount.

The door latch head (hook) is easy to replace or repair if that's the issue.

You can order Panasonic parts here.

We're happy to help you and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

SOURCE: Need replacement microwave to fit existing trim kit

Finally built up the courage to call GE Appliance number and weave my way through the phone menu system. Pressed the right menu option (sales) to speak to someone about trim kits. Found out that the trim kit model number is JX1527MWW. Then called back to select a different menu option (other) and learned from someone else that since the trim kit model is more than 1-2 years old, there's a slim-to-none chance any new microwave models will work with it, and even if there was they couldn't easily cross-reference against a model that old to tell me which one (or something to that effect). So I hit a dead end. Only option for me at this point is to buy a new microwave with new trim kit.

(Personal note: I think the trim kit business is a racket, in bed with the microwave manufacturers. Why else would there be no standard dimensions for microwaves by now--like refrigerators have--and why is it a few pieces of sheet metal cost over $150? Pretty convenient that every microwave model needs its own trim kit model!)

SOURCE: Door Release Button not working on Panasonic Microwave NN-T664SFT

The problem I had experienced with the Door not opening easily will be resolved by removing the micowave oven top cover with a tamper proof torx head, replacing the door switch and reinstalling the top cover.

SOURCE: Need replacement microwave for 6 yr. old Thermador MBBS microwave

I have the Thermador MBBS/01 in a Theramdor oven/warming drawer/microwave unit. When I was told it would be $600 to repair it, I called thermador & they don't make a replacement. Thermador CS was even rude about it. I searched & searched for a microwave that would fit & found a GE model JEB1860M1SS at Home Depot for $259.00. My husband & I just installed it & the frame kit inside, on the old Thermador micorwave fit PERFECT! I could not believe it. I thought we would either have to settle for something looking tacky in the hole or buy a whole new unit. Looks like it came in that unit.

Hi my oven suddenly started making loud weird noises and now does not heat any food. I smell smoke. What might be wrong?

Seems to me that your magnetron is a goner, check also the antenna shield, cover inside the oven cavity and replace both, you may need to clean and repaint burn surfaces inside oven cavity.

I just want a new one--what size replaces it

Take a measuring tape measure all four criteria, then when you go to buy, match the measurements on the box and have a salesman give you a hand so there can be no errors.

I do not know of ANY microwave that will get you anywhere near 300 celcius, the cavity thermals are rated around 110.F and even the mag limit thermal of the comercial units are 300F No where near the celcius temps you are talkig about.

Trim kit

These are countertop units. If you do enclose it, be sure you ventilate it adequately. If is not designed to be enclosed.

Installation Advice

The trim kit would be passively vented. I would contact the manufacturer's customer service peoiple for details. You may also need to ask to speak to a technician if the customer service folks can't fully answer your inquiry. See http://www.baumatic.co.uk
