The best way to rid out those issues is to Uninstall / install back.

My printer has an error with error code E42 how can i fix that? pls help..

E42 I believe is a scanner error. Try first to switch it off for 30 minutes and try. Else re-attach the ribbon cables of the scanner and try again.

If error still persist then do a factory reset as per below

1) Switch off the printer

2) Press and hold the Stop/Reset button while switching on the printer.

3) With the Power LED lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.

4) Release the Power button and the Stop/Reset button that will put the printer in service mode. Just wait for the menu selection.

5) When the LED lights in green, press Stop/Reset button to specified number of time(s)
according to the Legend below.

0 time Green Power off
1 time Orange Service pattern print

Hi have a hitachi c29-f100, how do I reset it

Hello
I'm not sure about what preset option you are asking for. If it is to reset the parentia passcode reset; key in '7777' will reset the set to its factory preset code '0000'. You can reset the passcode afterwards. If you wish to picture, sound etc; to return them to factory preset, select each window, hilight the reset option and pres enter. This will reset the that window settiing to its factory preset. OK.

Gives error 51-2Y I already did a cold reset and reset to factory settings it did not help can it be a fuser error? if not does anyone know what it is. I appreciate any response thank you Frank

Did the printer have a rough ride? HP's service manual suggests this to be a laser error on the yellow laser scanner, though these printers usually withstand shipping without any problems. Just for grins, if you can get the printer to get to READY again, run the printer through a complete calibration (from the control panel: Configure Device/Print Quality/Calibrate Now). The DC controller circuit board is also a possibility, but given the error code popped up almost as soon as you plugged the machine in suggests the yellow scanner has suffered some sort of mechanical damage from the trip. If the calibrate routine doesn't remedy the problem and you want to be sure, you could do the major disassembly required and swap the yellow scanner with the scanner for another color in the printer and if the error code changes to 51.2M (magenta), 51.2C (cyan) or 51.2K (black) (the code will reflect which scanner you exchanged with the one in the yellow position) you'll have confirmed the scanner is the problem, or if no change, then the DC controller is next in the chain.
Any further questions feel free to ask.

I have three Radio Shack 97s. I have picked up off craigs list. One has the factory preset frecs. I have added additional frecs. This one is my master. The two other 97s. Have had thier presets wiped...

To INITIALIZE your scanner and restore it to the original factory settings:
- Power the scanner OFF.
- Power the scanner ON. "Multi-system Trunking Scanner" will display on the screen
- With the message still showing, press 0 (zero).
- Press 1 (one).
- Press ENT. "Initializing please stand by" will display for about 5 seconds.
- M000 will display on the top line, Bank 0 Ch 000 will display on the third line. Do not power the scanner OFF until this display appears.

NOTE: The INITIALIZE process will erase/delete all information that you have programmed into the scanner and restore its original factory settings.

Need the manual for your PRO-97? You can download and print it, at no cost, here:

Scanner error 5 turn off then on

Hmm.. If you have tried all that, and even cleaning sensors, then: The step motor likely needs replacing. (Do you hear the motor moving when you turn the scanner back on after you move the scanner head to the right?) (Need to lift the small glass to push it across a bit.!)
This is replaced as part of the scanner assembly:

Machine error AE on brother MFC 6800

The error is from the scanner. It is possible the scanner lock on the underside of the scanner has shifted and not allowing the scanner to correctly return to the home position. Try Checking the scanner lock and make sure it is not in the locked position. Then turn off and on your machine while holding the menu/set button. the machine will come up either with an error or in maintenance mode. either way enter 99 and see what you get. Maintenance mode is a dangerous place to play around in. 99 exits maintenance mode. 91 resets all parameters to factory setting except stored locations like phone numbers and location information. 01 resets every thing to factory. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING IN MAINTENANCE MODE. CCDHP is scanner home position sensor. It will probably reset just by turning the machine off and on.
good luck.
