WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL. - rules

Installing additional DVD burners on your computer can turn your PC into a DVD-producing powerhouse, enabling you to burn multiple discs concurrently.

This is typically not a problem, as most computer cases can handle up to four separate optical drives at the same time.

The installation process is fairly straightforward, requiring no more than 20 to 30 minutes.

Turn off the computer and disconnect the power cord.

Remove the case screws at the back of the case and slide out the side panel.

Insert the new DVD burner into an empty optical drive bay at the top of the case.

Repeat for each new DVD drive.

Screw each drive into position.

Connect an IDE or SATA cable to the data port on the back of each drive (depending on your drive model).

Connect the white-tipped molex connector from your computer's power supply to the power port on the back of each drive.

These cables will already be inside your machine with one end connected to the motherboard and power supply, respectively.

All you will need to do is attach the other ends to the back of your optical drive.

Put the side panel back on, screw it to the case and reconnect the power cord.

Hope this helps.

I used to be able to burn music discs on my computer. But now it's telling me to connect a burner. I have never disconnected or uninstalled anything, and I can't figure out what's going on. What happened...

Hello Sandiegoquee, hi, your burner wires may be loose, turn off PC, open the PC side panel, and locate the burner power cord, this is the yellow/black/red connector if you have the old IDE drive, for the new drive sata cable. Simply disconnect the power and data cable and reconnect, make sure they are snug and tight, power on the PC and see if this solve the problem, if not do the process several times until the drive is detected.

I'm having difficulty reaching the memory chips. Plug-in drive, burner and writer in the way.

To reach the memory chips , remove the cables that come in the way. If that still doesn't help remove the drive, burner or whatever needs to remove to reach the memory chips. Make sure to make note of all the cables and parts positions before they are removed so that they can be reconnected as before.

Need to find out how to install my memorex double layer 16x

Ok here is what you need to do. Open the box that the driver came in and also the side panel of your computer. Remove the cables that are attached to the current CD-ROM drive and if you need to unscrew the screws that are holding the CD-ROM drive in place which you'll need a phillips screw driver for. Remove the old CD-ROM and put in the new one and reconnect the cables to the new one. If an installation disk came with it then put that in the CD-ROM drive and install whatever is on that disk. Afterwards you should be ready to go. If you need anything else please let me know!

Accidently uninstalled our CD Burner for E Machine T6412.

If your version of windows has a "RESTORE " function , like Xp pro has , just restore the computer to a time before you deleted the file.  If not , I know that the CD function and Media player a function of the windows operating system,so check the downloads for your model unless you have the restore disk already? Safe everything first, somewhere else via floppy, or cable or external Hard drive..
