Nokia E62

I added to a thread earlier but I figure I'd ask my specific question. I have a Nokia E62 and it will not SEND text messages. I've deleted all audio and picture files and they continue to "send" (at this time I get frustrated and take out the battery). Should I buy a memory card (as I do not have one)?

I don't know if this relates, but the icon that symbolizes the sending of a text messages is "stuck" on my display. I sent a text, as usual, a few weeks after buying the phone and it's never left my screen. Is this an indication of a related problem?

I'm just concerned because I bought the phone on ebay for $150 (used, because I tend not to notice those things-duh on my part) and I don't want it to just go to waste. I text a lot.
