Question about Technics Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Hello there, I've got a cheap and nice Tehcnichs SU-8099 Amplifier. It sounds excellent besides it only sounds on the left channel. The audio output on the right channel is barely audible even with the panning straight to the right. It reminds me of this post http://www.fixya.com/support/t400329-technics_suv500_amplifier My knowledge in electronics is pretty basic. I've got the service manual with the circuit diagrams, etc. Anyone can point me where to start looking and how to do it? Any link or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and kind regards

Does it have Line-out jacks in the rear?
If so , you can hook those to another amp and see if your balance problem is still there
If it is, then it's a pre-amp problem

Hi I just got a Technics SU V2 amp and can't get sound from the speakers. What size speakers would suit this amp? What is the correct method to connect the speaker leads to the back of this amp,...

Being a 500W amplifier, you need to connect speakers with 300W each. The correct method to connect speakers is red terminal of speaker should be connected to red terminal of amplifier & black to black. The left side to left side speaker & right to right speaker. There may be main & remote terminals. Main speakers are the speakers at local place of the amplifier & remote for remotely placed speakers. I do have Technics SU-V85A which is somewhat similar. Enjoy! A nice piece to listen.

Hello! I have a problem with Technics SU-V2X

Well whatever is playing up sounds like it might be getting too hot to me. In any case it's something common to both channels. Just have a look on the heatsink to see if it uses a single IC for both channels, they are can cause lots of problems!
The IC might be marked STK with numbers after the letters. That is the part number too for ordering a new one.

Audio distorsionado en canal izqierdo

the input selector switches if they are dirty can make the amplifier sound like it has a blown channel.
compare voltages from the left and right channel and make sure they are identical as well as the power supply, typically + and - 65vdc .check the regulators for the pream, they run panel lights off the same circuit + - 14vdc

Technics SU-V98 No Sound

If I understand your posting correctly, the amp works using the Aux In connectors but not using the VCR1 even when VCR1 is selected correct? If that is the case, there is an internal electronic switching IC (TA9263 I think) that may be defective. This is not a complex repair and can be confirmed easily by any shop that does audio repair. They will trace the incoming signal with an oscilloscope to the IC and see nothing come out when VCR1 is selected. The IC costs less than $10.
