Question about Whirlpool GS6NBEXR Side by Side Refrigerator
Power for the this is via the door switch. If the door switch has failed the dispenser will not work. See Item 25 this link:
Close up / part detail (3 terminal switch)
Try depressing the door switch with the door open and briefly tesing the dispenser. If the switch has failed the light in the freezer will always be on no matter the position of the switch plunger. If the light never goes out.... the dispenser will not work. I.e. bad door switch.
POWER OFF / Unit unpluged
You remove the switch by sliding a thin knife blade on the side of the switch and release the locking tabs and lift away from the inner liner wires attached.. Most have 2 tabs some only have one. This one appears to be on the right side of the plunger.
If you test the door switch and the problem persists / i.e. the light goes out when the plunger of the switch is depressed, just respond here and I will help you.
There is more we can do to troubleshoot.

With your ice maker not working properly, you might be wondering the reason behind the malfunctioning of your ice maker. Several factors could be involved in case your ice maker is not making any ice at all. It might be caused due to a defect in the water supply line. It could be possible that the water valve isn't getting any water. Check the water line at the back of the freezer for any blockage. Look for the water shut-off valve placed behind the refrigerator or under the sink and turn it off.
Next step would be to unscrew the copper line located at the back of the refrigerator. Now place the copper line in a bucket and turn on the valve to check if pressurized water comes out. The problem could also be linked to a defective tap valve. You could have it replaced. Since, freezer temperature can also be responsible for ice maker malfunctioning, make sure the freezer is not too warm.
