Web pages won't display

I am new to the world of wireless routers. When I'm conected to the Internet, some web pages like MySpace and Facebook won't display past the sites' home page. When I get 2 the home page and try 2 log in, it acts like it's going to change, but always times out. Netgear Tech Support is NO HELP! I currently have Comcast HiSpeed internet, Digital Voice phone service & cableTV. I also have a desktop and purchased the wireless router for my son's Dell XPS laptop. Both are located on the floor, but in separate rooms. Range seems 2 be fine because I can connect 2 the internet Did I buy the wrong router? mY son seems to think it's a bandwidth problem because I can go to other websites just fine. Please help. I've got the 12 days to send it back to Dell.

You have to call netgear again then ask them where you can find the MTU settings of the router. The default value is 1500. You can change it to 1450 first then 1400 if the first value won't work.

How to block facebook and myspace on the router-modem?

The router has the capability of blocking TCP/IP traffic from "specific" IP-addresses.

Name: www.facebook.com
Address: 66.220.149.32

=Name: www-lb.myspaceweb.akadns.net
Address: 63.135.80.46
Aliases: www.myspace.com, www.myspaceweb.akadns.net

So, "block" the above IP-addresses.
This will result in "time-out" errors within Internet Explorer, when the web-site does not appear to respond.

Create a new connection.
Select scan to look for your WiFi network.
otherwise if you know all of your network settings, you can do it maually
Select your wifi networks SSID.
Enter your security settings(if applicable)(WEP, WEP TKIP, Shared Key).
Select "easy" in configure network settings to obtain ip address.
Confirm the settings.
Test the connection.
Go back to the main menu, select the broswer & enter a web address (www.google.com etc.). Your PSP's internet is ready to be surfed out wirelessly.
the psp, unless you have a hack installed, will not be able to browse sites such as youtube, or facebook, or twitter because they require flash/java/enhanced memory[this is not the memory stick]it can however use facebook mobile or myspace mobile by typing in m.facebook/m.myspace.com -- Tips:
  • You may have to do this every time you are in a new area or surrounding that has wifi hotspots
  • Go to www.youtube.com for tips, tricks and hacks.
  • Go to your favorite cheat code website for cheat codes.

I think this is due to cookies. Google Chrome options - 1. Click on "Tools" (Spanner in the right corner under the close page X) 2. Click on "options" (11th option down) 3. Click "under the bonnet" 4. Click "content settings" 5. Keep on the cookies section. Make sure it's on "allow local data......" Click "Exceptions" 6. Type in the facebook ULR 7.
