Question about Canon PowerShot SD300 / IXUS 40 Digital Camera

A whole new problem...

Thank you so much for your quick response! So I went to try your idea and my camera presented a new and completely different problem. The viewing screen is completely blacked out in the picture taking mode (it does show a picture when I put it into the movie mode), but it does take the picture. The flash does work on auto as well... any ideas now?

Did you fix the previous problem? If so, was it a missing or loose screw?

As for your current problem, you may have accidentally pressed the LCD display on/off button (it manually turns off the LCD display to save battery life). Turn on your camera and press the DISP button once. It's located on the back of your camera in the lower left corner.

Hi My daughters Vtech Camera just stopped working suddenly have tried to change the batteries Put brand new one in the right way up and there is nothing happening at all have tried to press reset button...

Try the battery on another appliance to confirm the charge capacity or make sure there is voltage and current available on the battery. If so check the terminals on the camera, open and clean the battery terminals. If not there is a fault within which need that you need to open the camera. it can be a fusible link, fuse or a protection on the main board.

Why isn't my remote firing my camera?

Do you have the shooting mode set to one of the remote modes? If you don't, the camera will completely ignore the ML-L3 remote.

Press the shooting mode button and turn the command dial to either the Quick-response remote or Delayed remote mode. The Quick-response mode fires the camera as soon as you press the button on the remote. The Delayed mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before the camera fires.

Will not power on. new batteries installed.

Hello

Thank you for using FixYa for your problem

Always check the batteries first but if is it still giving the same fault, your camera is faulty.
It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Please rate our solutions and if you still have problems please call back for more ideas to help you

Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.

Camera won't stay on

That has happened to me before. When I got my camera for the first time, I took all kinds of pictures. About a week later, it did the same thing yours did. So I got new batteries and I wouldn't work. So I went to the store where I bought it and had it exchanged for a new one. If you haven't scrached it or anything and kept the reciept, then go to where you bought it and have it exchanged.
