Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter. Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn't overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn't working properly, the drain pump isn't working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home's drain lines. First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. If you have checked the drain hose and can't locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Leaks onto the floor

With or without a load in the dishwasher, start the wash cycle and watch the whole thing. Inspect around the door to see if water is seeping through the seal. If no water is leaking around the door, then there may be a cracked hose line somewhere else.

Dishes on upper tray are left with soap residue

Soap residue would indicate drain not holding, allowing water to seep away prior to end of cycle Check the drain valve for obstruction. (2) check and clean the filter in the fill valve as it could be partially blocked not allowing enough water to enter the machine

Water is not draining after wash. What might be the cause?

  1. Check for hose kinks or food plugging drain hose. Start at the drain port exit ( there are others, this is just an example )
  2. Check the check valve and drain hose for debris.
  3. Check pump motor for reversing during the pump out make sure the dishwasher is pausing between the wash and drain cycles letting the pump/motor reverse for the drain cycle.
  4. Check timer for not letting the dishwasher pause. ( not all dishwashers )
  5. Check pump motor assembly for a drain solenoid, during the pump out make sure the solenoid makes that distinctive "clunk" noise
  6. If you have recently installed a new garbage disposal, check knock-out plug at connection.
  7. Check pump impeller for damage.
  8. Check that the water inlet valve isn't seeping fresh water into the dishwasher when off.

Bosch SHU3036UC draining on wash cycle

it is probably going to be a grimy door thermostat between the inner and outer panel. its hooked into the back of the soap dispenser. someone would have to take the outer panel off then clean wipe away the caked grime from the thermostat and put it back in its place. if this doesnt fix it then it could be a heat assembly problem or timer problem. in that case you would need an appliance tech out

Wash cycle will not start

it is likely that you have a water leak causing the dishwasher to go into flood mode. to find this out tip the dishwasher sideways and see if water seeps out of the base if it does it will need to be sourced.
