Question about Panasonic DMR-ES35VS
Actually this is the worst way you could have done it - the image has a very poor quality.
If you want to record from the cable box and you want to hear the sound thru the receiver speakers you will need 4 cables with 3 heads(Yellow, Red and White - also called Composite AV connectors) and 3 RCA splitters and connect it this way (in all of the cases keep the colors paired):
1 - plug the splitters in the Comcast box and 2 cables in them .
2 - plug the first cable in the first input connections on the recorder/Panasonic.
3 - plug the second cable in the first input connections in the receiver/Sony.
4 - plug the third cable between the output connections from the Panasonic to the second input connections on the Sony.
5 - plug the fourth cable between the output connectors on the Sony and the input connectors on the tv.
