Question about Garmin n?vi 260W GPS
I had this same problem too. Find the wrench icon and select settings. Scroll through the settings menu and select Language. Select VOICE, select the language and scroll again. For English, three should be 2 options, American English and American English-Jill(TTS). Select American English-Jill(TTS). (text to speech). You may have to scroll back or upwards instead of downwards, its there somewhere.
That should do it. It took a while to find this out. You would think that this should be mentioned in the manual. I suspect there are many returns because people may think this feature doesn't work.

Oddly enough I had the same problem with the 260W. What the skimpy documentation doesn't say is that the voice you select must have the letters TTS next to it. Otherwise you just get the voice and no street names.
