Question about Daewoo DVRS05 DVD Recorder/VCR
Hi, the problem is if you take it apart you may find you need to replace some parts such as the plastic runners the tray runs on as these where and they then jam and thats whats happened to yours.
now the only real thing you can try yourself and it usually solves the problem and should get it working until it gets stuck the next time,
right what you need to do is get a strong flat bladed screwdriver, now i know this is going to sound s bit harsh to do but its the only way you will get it working as parts you just cant get.
now get a strong flat bladed screwdriver then when you press the eject button pry it open at the same time if you look at the dvd drive door if you put the screw driver not in the top or bottom but go in on the right hand side then as you press the open button pry the screw driver to the right so its putting pressure on the draw as if it was forcing it open you may need to do this a couple of times as usually you dont try to hard the first few times in case it breaks but it wont break so when you get the right pressure it will come open but make sure you dont try it before you press the open button doing this may damage it, so as soon as you press the open button pry it open then once its open you may not have any more problems with it usually once you get it open it should stay working for quite a while.
at least it will save you buying a new one as you just cant get the parts, todays products are made to be thrown away which is such a waste considering the plastic part that needs replacing would cost around 5 pence to make in the UK so its just silly that they dont make parts for these, the reason they dont make parts is that most people would need to take it to an repair shop to have the part fitted, but the problem comes when you have to pay the hour rate of the person repairing it as the cost would then be more than the price of a new one so they just dont make the spare parts for these type of items.
If by some chance you find a tiny hole the size of a pin just below the dvd door then if you poke a long needle into this hole it will open the tray, if you look on your pc dvd or cd drive you will see the small hole im going on about, not many dvd players fitted this overide hole to open if it gets stuck so the chances are you wont have one but have a look just in case by some miracal they did fit one.
let me know if you need further assistance ok
