Hi, the problem is if you take it apart you may find you need to replace some parts such as the plastic runners the tray runs on as these where and they then jam and thats whats happened to yours.

now the only real thing you can try yourself and it usually solves the problem and should get it working until it gets stuck the next time,
right what you need to do is get a strong flat bladed screwdriver, now i know this is going to sound s bit harsh to do but its the only way you will get it working as parts you just cant get.

now get a strong flat bladed screwdriver then when you press the eject button pry it open at the same time if you look at the dvd drive door if you put the screw driver not in the top or bottom but go in on the right hand side then as you press the open button pry the screw driver to the right so its putting pressure on the draw as if it was forcing it open you may need to do this a couple of times as usually you dont try to hard the first few times in case it breaks but it wont break so when you get the right pressure it will come open but make sure you dont try it before you press the open button doing this may damage it, so as soon as you press the open button pry it open then once its open you may not have any more problems with it usually once you get it open it should stay working for quite a while.

at least it will save you buying a new one as you just cant get the parts, todays products are made to be thrown away which is such a waste considering the plastic part that needs replacing would cost around 5 pence to make in the UK so its just silly that they dont make parts for these, the reason they dont make parts is that most people would need to take it to an repair shop to have the part fitted, but the problem comes when you have to pay the hour rate of the person repairing it as the cost would then be more than the price of a new one so they just dont make the spare parts for these type of items.

If by some chance you find a tiny hole the size of a pin just below the dvd door then if you poke a long needle into this hole it will open the tray, if you look on your pc dvd or cd drive you will see the small hole im going on about, not many dvd players fitted this overide hole to open if it gets stuck so the chances are you wont have one but have a look just in case by some miracal they did fit one.

let me know if you need further assistance ok

Tray won't open

You'll need to press the manual eject button on your DVD drive. Locate a small hole located underneath the DVD drawer. Use a safety pin or a paper clip & insert it into the hole. Push the pin gently in the hole and it will open partially. Pull the tray and check for any obstructions in the tray's path.

My system has swallowed a cassette, the tape is stuck & I can't get the drawer to open. It tries a few times (going 'click/clunk') & then gives up.Any thoughts please?

Hi. Firts of all.. chances are that your unit needs to be cleaned or you used low quality cassettes in thr player. a tape has would itself around the capstan and pinch roller causing everything to jam up. you may need to open up the unit..seperate the cassette mechanism from the main chasis and take it apart delicately in order to get the tape out without breaking the door catch .. Use tweezers but do not mark or scratch the azimuth head...OR.. try it from the front and try to open the door with a fingernail in there..while pressing the eject...good luk. The dvd drawer will not open on Bose 3-2-1 system. When you push the button to open the dvd, the display say ''opening'' but it does not open. There currently is a dvd inside.

That happens when you close the drawer instead of pressing the close button  you can skip gears and it would have to be taken apart and re-calibrated.   Sometimes it is just a glitch that you can over-ride using a straight pin into a small hole on the front  (assuming this uses a drawer).

DVD drawer won't open - there is not a dvd inside.Last night I played a dvd successfully. It did not have a label on it on anything that could result in something getting stuck.

In my expertise the smallest issue from an out of allignment issue with the drawer to a faulty spindle motor that spins t oo fast. The best bet and what i would do is either remove the drive and make sure everything is sliding ok, and if no obvious fault can be found(loose belt slipping gear etc) i would replace the dvd drive of the unit. Good Luck.

Hts 3450 home theatre system- dvd in player- but won't come out

When a disk is stuck inside the player , try following the procedure below:

Unplug power cord.
Plug back power.
Turn on the unit and press repeatedly the eject button at the same time. If you successeed in ejecting the disk before the player starts reading TOC(disk initial track), then the disk will eject.
If that does not work, then there is an internal fault, in that case the unit must be taken apart to remove the disk.

DVD drawer stuck out

Try to unplug the unit from its power source, give it a minute then plug it back in.If open appears on the window, hit the eject button. See if that will work for you. If that dont work, hit source and on at the same time, then eject if open appears in the window. That should close the draw for you.
