If you have a direct short circut such as diode zener fet trans. reg ic you would blow a fuse and it would never come on since it comes on and works you know there is nothing shorted now main descaler ic's can be intermittent due to heat but ck pwr supply first if all good ck regulators on logic board

Hello,
All you need to do is to open the back cover of the television to check for dry soldering and bulged capacitor, if found replace with appropriate parts.
You need to check the output voltages of the power supply to see which one goes off. It may be due to short circuits some where.

Good luck in solving the problem.....

Sony kp-46wt520 rear projection tv: standby light flashes

Two things here.

1) This is a CRT based set so there is no "lamp" involved.
2) The standby light should be blinking a repeated count of blinks with a 2 second pause between counts. Please report the exact count here. This will indicate the circiut in which a problem was detected.

With the above information, we can provide you with a more detailed description of the problem as well as the likely solutions and cost.

Thanks,
Dan

Stuck in standby

The 4 blinks indicate a vertical deflection problem. Either the connections on the legs of the vertical IC are bad or the IC is defective. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Let me know if you wish to attempt the repair and I'll provide more details and instructions.

No picture and tv automatically turns off

Good day.

You are getting an intermittent performance for your unit. One reason for this might be with the loose contacts on the high voltage section of your unit. Have it resoldered.

TV Lamp light blinking

COULD BE FAN NOT WORKING. TAKE BACK OFF SEE IF TURNING, CLEAN THEM. GO TO SONY.COM,TROUBLSHOOTING, OR SHUT THE TIMER OFF.
The STANDBY light is flashing on the television and there is no picture or sound. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif The STANDBY light will flash if an issue is detected within the television. This can sometimes be resolved by simply following the steps below to reset the television.
  1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
  2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
  5. Turn on the television.
If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required. Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.

Hi there. i have a Sharp tv (SX68RF8) which seems to turn off (go into stand-by mode) on its own after few minutes...sometimes it stays on longer sometimes it turns off in seconds..i always have to tur it...

Sounds like something is overheating or it is getting noisy power from the mains.
Try leaving it off for a while and point a fan at it, if it turns on and stays on for longer then it is obviously a thermal issue.
Such a problem would need to be addressed by a qualified factory trained repair technician.

No picture on a Sony KV-32V65 TV

AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the Cboard, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking.
