My Epson CX6400 "stalled" when I went to make a b/w copy. Lights were on but it wasn't reacting to any button pushing. Pulled plug and moved to another outlet but it now appears to be completely DEAD... nothing is happening; it's not coming on.. period. Help!! (Will try unplugging for 10 min.)

Here is what Canon has to say:
Solutions for Printer won't power up Issue: The device does not power on

1. Disconnect and Reconnect AC power adapter or power cord to the device and electrical source 2. Disconnect the power cord and wait approximately 10 minutes 3. Press the ON/OFF button to power on the multifunction device 4. Disconnect and reconnect the electrical cord to ensure a secure connection 5. The MP830 may require repair 6. Try a different electrical source / outlet
Here is a snip of my notes on the same subject for an Epson printer:
Well, first things first I guess:

  1. Try the printer in a different outlet (other side of room, or similar, not same power Jack)
    1. If you have power here, your issue is likely the outlet, not the printer.
  2. If the power cord has an "on" LED, check to see if it is lit up while plugged in.
    1. If you have an LED with no light while it is plugged in, you are looking at a power adapter that is no longer working
  3. If there is no "on" LED to check, your next best bet is to take your printer and power cord to a store that sells printers, and ask if you can "try" a new chord before buying it. (most stores will allow this to keep customers happy)
  4. You may also want to check with the manufacturer if the chord is found to be bad, as some will send replacements free of charge.
  5. The last option is that there is an issue inside the printer. This is not likely, though it is possible. Most printers have an external power adapter that keeps any power issue outside of the printer, but I can't tell from the Canon site if this printer has one or not. (It would be a black box between the plug and printer.)
    1. This can also be checked by "testing" a new chord at a store. New chord, still no power, internal issue.
      1. If this is the case you will want to contact Canon if the unit is still under warranty.
-Hope this helps.

My canon mp830 do not turn on what maybe the problem can u help please

Plug in another device like a lamp in the power socket to ensure you do have power available on that receptacle.

Make sure the power cord is connected securely.
If the printer does not power on, maybe you need a new power adapter.
Here is one that is available:

I have a Canon MP830 and I cannot turn it on when I touch the on off switch nothing happens I have checked all the power sources and they are plugged in; any suggestions?

1. If your MP830 is plugged into a power surge / power strip, power off/on the strip.

2. Plug the MP830 directly into the outlet.

3. Disconnect the power cord and wait 5 minutes before connecting

4. Replace the MP830 printer power cord.

5. Have the MP830 serviced.

Hope this helps.

You might try removing the printhead and turning on power, if you can't get it out you need a shop to take apart. The main logic board could be bad as well.

Canon MP830 power outage while printing

My MP830 did the same thing today. I thought it was toast. However through a Google search I found the following suggestion.

Unplug the MP830 for 20 minutes or more. Plug the MP830 back in and hit the power button.

To might great relief my MP830 powered up and is working just fine.

Canon MP830

My Canon mp830 is under warranty, so I took it to an official repair place rather than try to sort out its problem myself. I understand these are sensitive to power fluctuations. Mine may of experienced this. If you wish, I will get a detailed explanation for you of what the repairman found wrong when my mp830 is returned to me.- Melody
