Cant access phone log or messages from main menu. The screen just blinks and stays in main menu. Not receiving messages.

Go to the menu and click on the settings>messages>activate the option called blocked messages.

IN THE MIDDLE OF MY MAIN SCREEN HAS JUST APPEARED A TAB SAYING 'NO EVENT' AND I CANT GET RID OF IT?

try this: hold it down for a few seconds and then a small garbage can should appear at the bottom, drag it to it OR try dragging it to like left side of the screen for it to go back into the main menu (sound like you accidently set it as a shortcut) otherwise you will have to do a hard reset which will set everything to default settings .. *2767*3855# (this code will erase everything)

Hi i m ashish... i hve nokia 5800XM... my phone's some shortcut keys are not working properly...like shortcut menu bar....diller, contact key...call log by green button ..plz help me....

Hi Ashish

I am having a similar problem with my phone currently, it is a firmware issue that can be solved by doing a factory reset on the phone, however i am not doing it for now, because a new Firmware from Nokia has come for 5800 which is v40.0.005 and it is not yet out for the Indian phones so i am waiting to upgrade to this version.

Meanwhile to access the call log you can try this option, change the home screen theme to contacts bar from settings and then when you press the phonebook shortcut key or dialler shortcut key it would work

After you press the dialler shortcut key and you see the dialler on the phone screen press the green button it would show the call log.

I can't figure out how to remove shortcuts from the home screen of my LG Chocolate Touch. I can drag shortcuts such as calendar or calculator to my home screen so that I can simply open them in one touch....

go to your main menu, go to settings. go to displays. scroll down to "short cut bin" snd make sure it is turned on. a faded arrow will now appear on the right side of your display screen. drag the icon you want to get rid of to the arrow which will turn into a trash can.

Samsung Omnia - Main Menu Function key gives a shortcut error.

Assign the key to another function. And then reassign it back to the main menu short cut. It worked for me.

Lg Dare phone

Leslie,
I had purchased and am currently using the LG dare. The issue that I had with the icons apprearing on my main screen was that I was accidentally holding down and dragging the icons from my shortcut menu to the main screen. The easiest way to get rid of the icons from the main screen is to hold down the icon and drag it to the little arrow for the shortcut menu, and it should dissapear.( I just did it on mine so it should wok for you).
If that doesn't work, open you shortcuts menu, hit the set button and remove the icon from the shorcut menu (this should remove it from the main screen as well.)

good luck!

Nokia n95 home screen

I have tried to remove the vertical menu's while maintaining the horizontal shortcuts above, but it doesn't seem possible via the N95 menu. I'm sure there's a more extreme method, but that would be way too much of a pain....

Anyhow, if you would like to remove all of the shortcuts, here's the procedure (N95 non 8GB):

Settings -> General -> Personalisation -> Standby Mode -> Active Standby (OFF)

On my old N95, Settings are under "Tools" in the main menu, however, this may have changed on the newer versions. Although this may not strictly be the procedure for the 8GB version, hopefully it will help.

Cheers
