I am assuming the appliance you mention is the one at this site.

It is likely the thermostat (which controls the temperature) has packed up or the heating coil has fused. The indicator light coming on would only mean the electric circuit is alive but will not show the thermostat or the heating coil condition.

Unless you are comfortable with repairing electric appliances, I would suggest buy a new one. I am assuming the unit is a few years old.

Bissell proheat cleanshot 2x won't stop putting out cleaner and water, the little dial won't stop spinning

First clean the Flow Indicator filter. Turn the Flow indicator cap counter-clockwise to remove it. Lift the rotor and the filter under it out. Clean the filter and reinstall in reverse order. Make sure you have unplugged the unit before working on it. Then clean the lint filter on the heat tank cap (it looks like a screen) and reinstall it. There's not much more to these so if that doesn't work call the Bissell Consumer Care at 1-800-237-7691

Why is the shampooer not sucking up the dirt after I shampoo it?

Most likely filters are clogged. Clean the water tank filter on the tank cap (looks like a screen), then the Flow Indicator: turn the Flow Indicator Cap counter-clockwise to remove it. Lift out the rotor and the filter is under it. Clean the filter and reinstall in the reverse order.

I recently purchased a 2lb bread maker. But cannot find the manual or recipe book so I can use it. I brought it from QVC. Can you tell me where I can get this information. I would love to start using...

If you want to use the bread machine immediatly, boxed bread mixes from grocery stores will have generic instructions on the back of the box that can be used universally by most bread making machines. However, if you are wanting the manual and recipies to the particular machine, sometimes the place you purchased it from will allow you to photocopy one from a new one on the shelf. You would need your receipt to prove the purchase. Google Search is also an excellent way to download copies. The contact information on the box will too. In the meanwhile, if you want to make perfect bread follow this recipe BUT>>>do not use the machine for this recipe, use a large bowl to raise the dough.
4 large bread loaf pans, lightly greased with 1 teaspoon vegetable oil each. Set aside

4-6 cups+ flour
1/3 cup evaporated milk
3 2/3 cups water
1/4 cup active dry yeast
1/4 cup salad oil
1/8 cup table salt
1/6 cup sugar

Put the water and evaporated milk in a glass bowl and microwave to 120*~about 2 minutes. It should feel very warm to the touch but not as hot as a cup of hot coffee.
while microwaving, take a second very large bowl (big enough to hold a family size bag of chips)
put the salad oil, sugar, salt and yeast in and stir till mixed.
Add the very warm but NOT extremely hot milk water to the dry mixture. Use a swizzer to mix. Start adding the flour till very thick. Take swizzer out and add more flour gradually until it can't absorb more and is no longer sticking to the sides of the bowl. Shake more flour on a clean counter top and work the dough 3 minutes until smooth and not sticking to the counter. Place dough in another very large bowl. Cover with plastic wrap, place in a warm area such as the vent area of a 225* oven to rise. Punch down after double in size (about 30 minutes). Divide into 4 equal portions. Shape and place in pans. Rise 15 more minutes. Heat oven to 375* bake till golden brown on top and a finger tapping sounds hollow.
Wrap in plastic wrap when cooled slightly to keep moist. Refrigerate loaves to keep longer.

This recipe can be used for cinnamon rolls, clover leaf buns, pizza bread sticks or all 4 if you divide it up! Enjoy....I'm also a competition baker!

How to cook hamburgers - temperature, etc.

Hi,

Prepare Patties

1. Put minced scallions and chopped mushrooms in bowl.
2. Add red wine vinegar.
3. Add ground beef to bowl.
4. Mix everything together with your hands.
5. Flatten the beef into four patties that are 1/2-inch thick and 5 inches in diameter.

Cook Patties

1. Set stove-top grill or burner to medium-high.
2. Preheat nonstick frying pan. The pan is the correct temperature when a drop of water dances on its surface rather than sticking to it.
3. Place patties in the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
4. Flip patties and cook for another minute, and then add sliced cheese to the tops of patties if desired.
5. Cover pan and allow burgers to cook for a final 2 minutes. Cook 3 to 4 minutes for well-done burgers.
6. Remove hamburgers from pan and place in hamburger buns.
7. Add condiments and toppings such as ketchup, mustard, sliced tomatoes, lettuce, red onions and pickles.

I DON'T HAVE INSTRUCTIONS FOR A TM4 MR. COFFEE ICE TEA MAKER I BOUGHT AT A THRIFT STORE TODAY. I DO NOT KNOW HOW IT WORKS. I PRESS THE BUTTON AFTER ADDING WATER TO THE WATER LINE BUT IT CLICKS OFF...

I just got the exact IcedTea maker that you have (model TM4) from Mr. Coffee. I think that we were both trying to make it work the same way, which is wrong. The plastic pitcher goes on the bottom, while the part that plugs in with the button&indicator light goes on the top. Put water in the pitcher to the indicated water line and then pour it into the part with the metal basket. I didn't have any directional sheet either so I didn't know that the water goes in there. I thought the water would be gently warmed while in the plastic pitcher. After pouring water into the heating part, fill the pitcher with ice to indicated level (about 2 ice cube trays). Place the heating part with the button&indicator light on top of the plastic pitcher and cover it with the white lid. Push the button and it will heat the water and dispense the brewed tea into the pitcher thru a valve. The indicator light will go off when the brewing process is done. The entire manual can be downloaded from going to: http://www.mrcoffee.com/manuals/MrCoffee/tm4.pdf I hope this helps you if you still have the item. I bought mine to give my daughter while in college. I really like that it is so space saving compared to many that I am finding in stores today. Good luck and happy brewing!!! Susan

As soon as I plug Shark steam cleaner (S505UK) in to mains it trips all the power in the house out. I am using a 15amp extension lead. Are there any user servicable parts or repair centers in the UK?

When the main trip cuts out it indicates current leaking to earth within the guilty machine. In machines that combine electricity and water in close proximity (like yours) this problem is almost always caused by some electrical component getting wet.  I'm not familiar with this particular machine, but doubt if there are any user-serviceable parts. If there are any covers you can remove easily, you might try just exposing the innards and make sure they are dry.  If you can get inside, a gentle blow with a hair dryer might help.
As for repair centres, what part of the UK are you in? The place where I work is in south Oxfordshire, and we're always happy to have a look at problems like this... but no guarantee at this time, of course!

Remove the cap for the flow indicator, then there 6 screws to remove to take off the top, before removing the top, turn the smart mix valve to about the half way point so the piston won't fall off. When you are ready to re-install the top cover, just before pushing it all of the way down, turn the smart mix valve to the water only setting, then push it into place, re-install the screws and the flow indicator parts.
