Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I had this exact same problem with my rock-chip based MP4 player; the Pure P970. Several dedicated USB chargers were used to try to charge the unit to no avail, and no pin-hole exists on this model for a hard-reset, however it was found that the P970 can be reset, thus solving the "dead player" problem, by simultaneously depressing the "vol" button and sliding the power/hold switch to the on position for the normal period of time it takes to switch the unit on during ordinary operation. Voila! The unit resets and all is well again!

Did your player come with the wall plug attachment to charge it? If not, find yourself a USB style wall charger (there are MANY 3rd party brands out there) that will charge a USB device. Output from the transformer should = 5v DC and 1000 mA. Alot of times your PC will not detect the charging circuit, and will only detect the player as a mass storage device. If a 3rd party charger will not work, you have a defective item, and should contact the people that you purchased it from.
I sell Rockchip players, and also have a charger that will work for it, if you cannot find one at your local electronics shop. Contact me @ customerservice@SendMeGamesNow.com if you have more questions.
