Dear Sir/Madam
I have an LG notebook model "LS75 express" with DVD RAM, till 2-3 months ago it was working properly, but 2 days ago I tried to copy files on to DVD disc and found out - after many tries that my DVD drive does not detect a blank CD or DVD disc, Not through windows, Nero, or power dvd suite (like "power to go" software). I used to copy files on a CDR using copy-paste but now the drive only reads from CDs and DVDs.
I have been on the net for 2 days (16 hrs.) and gone no where with this but noticed many similar problems with no solutions except replacing the drive it self, How far this is true?

You need to check if somehow you enabled a zone protection ,,,
Also try to
1.clean the lens
2.Reinstal drivers (find them in my computer right click properties device manager)
3. Use some other burning softvare i sugest Ashampoo burning studio...

I have Found the solution for this problem:
The "Enable Recording on this drive" check box was not checked, in the properties menu under the recording tab.
I dont't know what caused it to uncheck ! some IT person suggested it could be one of the windows automatic updates.
