SOURCE: can't delete pictures?
I would reset your camera to the factory settings to fix your settings being locked.
You can find that information on page 130 of your manual.
You can find your manual here
If you can't delete pictures on your camera or your card, you need to make sure Protect is not set to on. You can find that on page 90 of your manual.
Thanks for coming to FixYa, and don't forget to rate my solution.

SOURCE: memory card
From your description it sounds like your card is full. Are you able to download to your computer? If you are able to do that then try deleting individual photos on the card using the Computer to do so. If you can achieve that then try to Re-format the card back in your Camera. Hope this helps you.

That doesnt mean that they have not been deleted after you looked at them this morning.
Remove the card and use a card reader to access the card to see ALL of the pictures currently on the card. This is like having a second opinion, both can't be wrong. The other aspect is that some pics are in memory and not on the SD card

I assume you have an SD card. If it's bigger than 2GB then it's actually an SDHC card and will not work in the ZD710.
No, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong. The card just needs to be formatted. In any mode press the Menu button. Press right-arrow to select the Setup tab (camera and wrench) then press OK. Press up/down-arrow to select "Format" then press OK.
Make sure you format the memory card. It's okay to format the internal memory, of course, but your current problem appears to be that the card needs to be formatted.
