Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-60XS955 60" Rear Projection HDTV
While watching tv it shuts off after a few minutes then turns back on by itself.
It turns out, as indicated by the previous solutions, that the problem was with the lamp. Had the lamp replaced (cost $100) and everything works fine now.

My 50" Grand Wega was just over a year old when it started shutting off unexpectedly... the screen would turn black, the green power light would flash for 15 seconds or so then the lamp would turn back on.. perfect picture for two minutes and the cycle would repeat itself... very frustrating!
The solution was to replace the lamp!

Its the lamp that needs replacing. It will run for a couple of seconds and then it would dim or turn off.
