go to control panel & check for keyboard layout settings also connect another keyboard & check if it is a hardware problem

I used to get this problem. It is VERY annoying as you must know. try pushing the windows icon button in the top right corner of your keyboard(thats where it is on my keyboard)then use your arrow keys to scroll up to control panel, select mouse by using arrow keys and then use the tab and arrow keys to open the mouse keypad pagetab and push enable and enter key to turn it on.
IF WHEN YOU DO THAT AND your in the touchpad properties but there is no 'enable' and it says no hardware detected, then go into the same mouse window from the control panel and go to the hardware tab and either try to update driver or use the trouble shoot button.

Once clean your Laptop with a smooth cloth and try to clean the edges of your Laptop keyboard and see that all you setting are normal and default in your control panel settings and this above not work just reassemble the system i mean remove all the components and Re fit then you can solve the problem
