Hello,
if both parts have been replaced then the Eng that have been onsite have to reset those values. Their are possible but required technical knowledge as their done on a Special Diagnostics menu on the device.

If memory serves me correctly. Order a new 2nd BTR and you'll get the information within the packaging. If it's on contract it won't be a problem. Good luck!

How do I reset 2nd bias transfer roll for xerox 7556

On the 7556 and most other Xerox copiers, follow these steps to reset the counter. You do NOT need to call out a tech.

The supply life counters must be reset when some supplies are replaced.

  1. Log in as the System Administrator or Key Operator.
  2. Press the [Machine Status] button on the Control Panel. The Machine Status screen will be displayed.
  3. Select the [Tools] tab on the Touch Screen.
  4. Select the [Device Settings] button.
  5. Select [Supplies], and then under Features select [Supply Counter Reset].
  6. Select the required supply item, and then select [Reset Counter].
  7. Select [Reset] when the confirmation screen is displayed.
  8. Select [Close].
  9. Press the [Log In / Out] button on the Control Panel. The Logout screen will be displayed.
  10. Select the [Logout] button on the Touch Screen to exit.

Need to replace transfer belt cleaner and 2nd bias transfer roll

Both are probably still good but the HFSI (High Frequency Service Item) counter needs to be reset. Unless something has changed with them that has to be done with the service laptop hooked to machine with a serial cable and using M24 diagnostics.

All three lights blink rapidly. The computer says it cannot communicate with the printer. When I plug the USB into the computer the computer doesn't acknowledge that anything was plugged in. If I...

It sounds like your main board (the brains) in the printer is fried (I got the same problem with mine). That part (when purchased new) costs so much, your better off just getting a new printer, and it's not your typical user serviceable part (hard to remove, many wire/plugs going to/from it).

The problem with replacing it with a used part, is that the used circuit board will still have the consumable counters in it set to old values from the printer is was pulled from, and NEW or RE-Chipped consumables will be needed to reset those back to zero again (not just the toners, but also the photo drums, fuser, and transfer belt). So, if the used board was connected to "old" consumables (nearly depleted), you won't be getting too many prints before it's asking for either new toners, photo drums, fuser, or transfer belt. The fuser and transfer belt cost upwards of $175 or more each....

How it works is like this, according to Okidata's Tech support guys. When you put a new "consumable" (toner, photo drum, fuser, transfer belt) into the printer, that main board resets the counters AND THEN it immediately blows a fuse (not a regular fuse, but a microchip fuse) in that comsumable so it can never reset the counter for that consumable again. When that consumable's counter reaches it's predetermined number of prints, the printer refuses to print until it is replaced (or it is "re-chipped" with a new fuse).

They make toner refill cartridge chips, and I think even a photo drum kit (seen it on Ebay). But I haven't found anything that would rest the fuser or tranfer belt. Let me know if you find something to reset the fuser or transfer belt.

How do i reset the second bias transfer roller on a Xerox 3535

I am afraid you will have to call in a qulified xerox technitian to reset the second bais transfer roll. It need to be done via a laptop connected to the m/c. The laptop needs to have a special program which only xerox techs. have in there possetion.

No unfortunatly. That is done in the diagnostic mode on the 3535, and that is propritary sofware where the diagnostics has to be accessed with a laptop that has that software loaded onto it.
There are some resets you can do, but they wipe out all the NVM inforamtion. Once those numbers reach a certain level, they have to be reset via a laptop.
Now that being said, once it is accessed, the service rep CAN change that threshold to a much much higher number so you can run the parts to failure, which is more realistic.
Those parts are very easy to replace. And can be purchased from a business called The Parts Drop, Google that business and talk to Britt. No I do not work there, but have dealt with them for years and they are very professional and exceptionally honest.
