Hi ahzeal,
One thing you can do that make some changes in automatic updates. Just follow is these steps:- 1.Goto Start---->Run. 2.Type services.msc then hit enter. 3.Find out the Automatic updates or windows updates(in case of Windows Vista or Windows 7). 4.Change it to manual or you can stop that(Depends on your wish).

Can't logon to my acer laptop it says the following, the user profile service failed the logon user profile cannot be loaded

Shut down your computer. To do a hard shutdown hold the power button down until it turns off. You probably need it to go to last known good configuration. To to this 1. find the F8 key (keep finger on it(not pushed yet). 2. Turn Power button on and immediately start tapping F8 key. This will take you to a screen with many options; Last Known Good Configuration is one of them. It should start up. Hope this helps.

ACER Aspire 5100 powers down at will

When you turn the laptop on hit f8 until the menu comes up, try use the last good known configuration. If that does not work tap f8 goto safe mode and then to system restore and restore it to an earlier time. Let me know if it works.

Acer5920 stuck in configuring updates.

This is generally caused by bad blocks in the Master Boot Record(Table). The drive itself is probably not salvagable. You'll need a reputable reapir person to slave your drive to another system to get the data off.

Good Luck

Laptop shuts off and wireless messed up

Ok.. Seems like you have lot of issues. Lets deal with them one by one.
The over heating issue is common on many laptops especially while playing games. The simplest fix would be to update your BIOS. This will resolve the issue more often than not.
As for the remaining problems your chipset drivers are probably screwed which in turn have affected the graphics and wireless drivers. I would suggest that you re-install them all so that this issue can be resolved.
You can find all the drivers here
First update the bios, then the chipset driver followed by the grphics, wireless and any other stuff you want to.

Hope this helps,
Sai.

I have an acer aspire laptop, when i start it up its says configuring updates stage 3 of 3 0% complete then it will shut down come back on say the same again and shut down again. it will keep on doing this

Maybe you could try the last known good configuration. When the laptop is starting up, wait until the acer screen disappears and then tap F8 on the keyboard before the windows screen comes up. You should get a black screen with some options that say safe mode. The fourth or so option on the list will be "Last Known Good Configuration". The computer should try and load windows. Hopefully that will restore the machine before the update.

If it works it would be a good idea to go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and fully update your laptop. This will download the update manually instead of doing it with automatic updates.

  3. You should get a Windows Start screen
  4. If you get a Windows Logo page (the kind you normally get when Windows loads, then reset it and start again.
  5. On the Windows Start page select "Last known good configuration" and press enter twice
