Question about ASUS Computers & Internet
I install a new geforce 8800 gt vid card.my system is a hp paviilion a6013w with vista.i get a buzzing noise when i start the computer and the video wont work through the new vid port but i can still use the old vid port.the install disc i dont think is detecting the new card.when i start the install disc it shows a list of the vid chips the disc supports and those that it does not.so i am thinking the slot needs to be activated. Is there something i need to do to "activate" the pcie slot for the new vid card ?
As for the pcie slot you need to enter the startup setup and choose the graphics card that your computer uses which is mainly the "integrated periferals" menu, then choose that the pcie card is your primary graphice card or simply disable your older card.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
