I can't even do the re-installation, my computor is frozen on that first screen. And I have the cd to restart but I don't want to lose my records that I have saved.

  • elvamolina May 28, 2008

I do not know what BIOS is. Or the OS.

  • elvamolina May 28, 2008

By the way my computer is a gateway. And I'm trying to fix it but I'm doing this at work so now I'll have to go try your solutions at home, and I'll tell you tomorrow if everything worked. (I hope it does).

    Thanks A Lot

Okay. This is a real problem. First take the re-installation of the operating System and boot from it. Then follow the instructions to do a reinstall. If you would like detailed instructions you can e-mail me at 4077mashunit@gmail.com

Hope this Helps

You will not use your records. But does BIOS come up at all? If you are unsure about what BIOS is I will give you detailed instructions about how to accsess BIOS in order to repair the OS.

    Hope This Helps.

BIOS or Basic Input Output System is what allows you to access your drives and the operating system (Windows XP is a good example). The screen that allows you to access BIOS is usually The first screen that pops up with your computer manufacturers name on it (Dell is a good example). When a screen with your computers logo comes on hit F2. That will take you into BIOS. From there there it will take you to a blue screen. That is BIOS. I will explain the Operating System if we need to.

My computor emachine win.vista i cant get juno.com to stay on my computor after installing it

Does Juno dissapear right after install? Or does it dissapear after reboot?

If it dissapears right after install, its propably because the user you're using doesn't have the proper permissions to install system critical software. If this is the case a prompt should appear informing you that you don't have the permissions to install this type of software, and that you need proper permissions.

If its deleted after reboot, it could be because your malware/virus scanner has flagged it as hostile. or that its not a vista compatible program.

Try contacting juno support
http://help.juno.com/support/email-us.html

and describe the problem to them.

I have a emachine w3619, i let my son use it and he changed the login password and cant remember it. and i cant figure out how to get into my computor. how do i go about getting into my computor

Which Password? Bios Password? Hard Drive Password? Windows Welcome Screen User Logon Password?

Which Operating System? Windows XP? Windows Vista? Windows 7?

OK, if you are running Windows 7, Microsoft tightened security on it so you've got to have a password reset disk which 99% of the people who own laptops with windows 7 fail to do. It should be one of the first things you do when you buy the laptop. Otherwise, you're faced with reinstalling the Operating System or possibly doing a System Recovery.

If you're on Windows XP or Vista try this:

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see the Safe Mode option. Select SAFE MODE and let the computer boot up. When it gets to the User Login screen it will show the Administrator userid and the userid for which you forgot the password. Sign in as the Administrator (hopefully you didn't put a password on it and forgot it too). Once the desktop appears it will look different, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, but this is normal for safe mode.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts
When the User Accounts screen opens, click on the userid for which you forgot the password. Select the option to REMOVE PASSWORD.

Reboot your machine.

it's probably in hibernate mode. go to your display properties ->screen saver, click the power tab and check the hibernate tab, try disabling hibernate.
Sometimes, if a machine won't properly wake from sleep, there may be a bug in the BIOS, you can try updating to the latest BIOS for your machine. Check the manufacturer's website to see if an update is available.
