Question about Sony KP-53S25 53" Rear Projection Television
Hello there! I've been reading your posts about convergence. Seems like you know it all about it! Anyway, I'm having that issue with my Sony Projector TV (KP-53S25). Could you please give me some hint (s) on what to replace/check, etc. in order to get it going?
My TV's image shows double with Red "ghostly" image overlapping.
Thank you in advance for you r help and hope to hear from you soon,
If you have messed with the convergence board at all make sure the red green and blue square sockets are plugged in the proper place as marked red green and blue on the top of the circuit board. I tried replace a convergence board once with a recycle one and the board worked but if you use a new board then the color projectors need to be realigned or you will still see 3 pictures in 3 different colors off a few inches from each other. So i put the old board back in and the picture was perfect. The real problem was the audio amp. was faulting from overheating and kicking out the power supply. My replacement audio board cost me 5 dollars from a recycle center in Escanaba, mi. I suggest taking close up digital pictures of all connection to the boards before replacing them. Two many to remember. Take your time as plastic frame parts are fragile with age. P.S. I left a internal separation panel off for more air circulation and i may add a muffin fan for cooling soon.

You can get replacement ICs at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions with pictures so you can do the repair yourself. Heres the link.
