Question about ViewSonic VP191b 19" LCD Monitor
This is not a power cord problem. This is a problem on the powersupply board of the lcd. There are a number of electrolyte capacitors that are most likely going bad and would need to be replaced.
Safest bet would be to replace all normal sized electrolyte capacitors on the power board of the display to get it to function like new again.
If you don't own a soldering iron, any local vcr/tv or such repairer should be able to fix the problem.
