Unit has been one of the best cleaning assistants we have ever purchased ( we have recommended it to several other people who have also enjoyed it) until about one week ago when it no longer heats. Light goes on, a tiny bit of steam comes out ( not hot) and obviously it cannot be used in this state.

My dyson dc33 has lost vacuuming suction but the wand works, how do I fix it?

HI, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum!

If your vacuum is experiencing difficulties with suction there are several places you can check to help your vacuum operate at its peak performance.

Check out your brush roll. Look for any noticeable debris, and be sure to manually rotate the brush roll to unearth any hidden clogs that may be behind your brush roll. If you see carpet fibers, or strands of hair remove these with a razor, or scissor.

How do the bristles look on the brush roll? If they're loose, or look worn down then it may be time to replace the brush entirely.

Is the belt intact? After usage the belt will stretch out and lessen the tension on the brush roll. This could be causing the brush roll to have a lack of resistance against it. You want to be sure the belt is on there nice and tight. If your brush roll isn't operating properly it won't be able to pick up dirt and debris.

Be sure to empty your unit's dust cup. Allowing for fine dust and debris to rest in your unit's dust cup for a long period may cause your unit to become clogged, which leads to poor or even no suction for your vacuum.

It is recommended to wash and clean your unit's filter weekly. To do so, empty your filter screen outdoors to take off any excess debris and then clean under running water until the water comes out clean. Allow the filter screen to fully dry before inserting it back into the unit. This may take up to several hours.

My lightweight hepa has lost most of its suction. No blockage in the hose?

Hepa filter cleaners have two filters in them. You need to replace both. Sorry some only use one. I would need the brand an model to tell you where they are an where to get them. Your best bet is to call a vacuum repair place an see if they have the filters. Or look online an they can be purchased from make, such as Hoover, Sears, Orich, etc. i replaced mine they just pull out an I never knew they were there. Unless you want a new vacuum.

How do you clean the bissel machine from build up of dirt, hair etc

HI, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum!

If you're looking to clean your Bissell vacuum here are some parts you should focus on to ensure proper suction and overall peak performance for your Bissell.

One of the easiest parts to clean is your vacuums brush roll. First thing to do is unplug your vacuum and flip it on its side or back. Notice any debris, such as hair or carpet fibers. Remove these either with a razor, or a scissor. Then, manually rotate the brush roll to uncover any further clogs.

After every use, make sure to empty your unit's dust cup. Allowing for fine dust and debris to rest in your unit's dust cup for a long period may cause your unit to become clogged and this is a simple task to do after you vacuum. And it will make a world of difference for your vacuums performance.

It is recommended to wash and clean your unit's filter screen weekly. To do so, empty your filter screen outdoors to take off any excess debris and then clean under running water until the water comes out clean. Allow the filter screen to fully dry before inserting it back into the unit. This may take up to several hours. Be sure to allow it to FULLY dry.

How do i get the funky smell out of my 2100 electrlux

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

Vacuums are supposed to help your home smell better, but when they don't there is definitely something wrong. Odors in vacuum cleaners can be caused by several things. If the vacuum is a bagged unit, replacing the bag often will help in minimizing any odors from debris caught inside the bag.

Keeping your unit's filters clean and replacing them periodically will also reduce unwanted smell in your unit. Washable filters are recommended to be washed at least once a month and replaced, as non-washable filters, every 3 to 6 months.

Finally, if your unit is a bagged unit you may benefit from using a scent tablet that you can put inside a new filter before running your unit. You can try these fresh scent tablets: http://www.crucialvacuum.com/vacuum-scent-tablets-10pk.html

How to clean brushes on hoover steam vac

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

Cleaning the brushes on your unit is crucial in maintaining your Hoover performing at it's best and it is very easy to do. First, make sure your unit is off and unplugged, and make sure to remove the clean and dirty water tanks to avoid any possible leaking.

With the handle in the upright position, tilt the unit back and rest it on the floor. Grad the brush assembly and pull firmly until you remove them from the unit. Clean the brushes with running water until the water runs clear and the brushes are clean.

Why wont brushes rotate

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

There are several things that may affect the performance of your unit and cause this to happen. The roller brush may stop working properly because of the belts, the roller brush or the filters in your unit.

Belt are recommended to be changed every 3 months, not replacing the belts can cause them to stretch out and the roller brush won't work properly. If the belts are in optimal conditions and do not need to be replaced, this may have been caused by your unit's rollerbrush.

Roller brushes can be cleaned and maintained to avoid frequent replacement. Make sure that there are no hair strands or debris tangled up in the brush roll's bristles, this may cause the roller to not work. Monthly care of your brush roller will help to keep you vacuum working properly.

Last, make sure to check your filters, if the filters have not been washed (if washable) or have not been replaced, it can affect the suction and performance of your unit.

Bissell proheat 2x troubleshooting

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

There are several things that may cause this to happen in your Bissell ProHeat 2x, like the brush assembly or the belts.

First, make sure the cleaner is reclined, or the brushes will not turn. If your unit is reclined and the brushes still do not run, check if there is anything tangled in your unit's brushes or if the brushes are damaged. Clear the brushes of any hair strands or tangled debris for their optimum performance. We recommend for these brushes to be cleaned and checked monthly and replaced once a year.

Next, unplug your unit and check both of your units belts. It is recommended for belts to be changed every 3 to 6 months, depending on the use of your unit. Belts can be stretched out and loose, causing the brushes not to spin properly.

Dyson hand held vacuum runs for a few seconds then shuts off?

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum.

Other than the battery being defective, this problem may be caused by a blockage or a dirty filter. If after checking your unit for blockages it still having the same issue, you may need to wash your filter.

Ideally, washable filters should be washed after every 3-4 uses. First, remove the dust from your washable filter. As it may spread around the air, it is best to do this outside. Tap the filter gently to get rid of most of the dust. With lukewarm running water, rinse the outside surface of the filter, without using any soap. Allow the filter to air dry between 24 to 48 hours before you replace it in your vacuum. Once the filter is clean and dry, place it back into your unit and turn it on.

To minimize the waiting time for the filter to be completely dry for it to be used again, it is highly recommended to have a spare filter to use while you clean the one in your hand held vacuum.
