HI, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum!
If your vacuum is experiencing difficulties with suction there are several places you can check to help your vacuum operate at its peak performance.
Check out your brush roll. Look for any noticeable debris, and be sure to manually rotate the brush roll to unearth any hidden clogs that may be behind your brush roll. If you see carpet fibers, or strands of hair remove these with a razor, or scissor.
How do the bristles look on the brush roll? If they're loose, or look worn down then it may be time to replace the brush entirely.
Is the belt intact? After usage the belt will stretch out and lessen the tension on the brush roll. This could be causing the brush roll to have a lack of resistance against it. You want to be sure the belt is on there nice and tight. If your brush roll isn't operating properly it won't be able to pick up dirt and debris.
Be sure to empty your unit's dust cup. Allowing for fine dust and debris to rest in your unit's dust cup for a long period may cause your unit to become clogged, which leads to poor or even no suction for your vacuum.
It is recommended to wash and clean your unit's filter weekly. To do so, empty your filter screen outdoors to take off any excess debris and then clean under running water until the water comes out clean. Allow the filter screen to fully dry before inserting it back into the unit. This may take up to several hours.
