Husqvarna 450 e chainsaw chain tension wheel doesn't lock and the cover comes off during use

The adjustment handle snaps down to lock. If the handle is coming loose, I recommend replacing the handle. You can also go to standard bar bolt set up if you prefer. Check with your Husqvarna dealer for part numbers.

How do I "reset" the brake?

If the chain brake is on and the sprocket cover is off the saw, they are a pain. You need to grip the clutch housing while turning backwards the tri-star \'cog\' in the inside of the sprocket cover. Ive done it in the past by holding it in place over the chain brake handle so the cog\'s line up and pulling the handle back in the off position. Failing that you might be successful using a pair of 90 degree circlip pliers.

I cannot get the clutch cover off my husqvarna 455

Before the cover will come off you need to slacken the chain and make sure the chainbrake is off, to do this pull the hand guard fully back to the top handle, it should click and settle back into the central position, the brake/cover should then come off

Husqvarna chainsaw 450 oil leak

The 450 has a very simple non adjustable pump, it sits through a black rubber pick up/delivery pipe, they are quite prone to leaking where the pipe sits up against the crankcase, the part no. of the pipe is 544084201, changing this will help, you can also try using instant gasket to seal it, you will need to remove the clutch , sprocket, and pump plate to get acsess to it.

Husqvarna 450 chainsaw used about 1 hour out of the box cutting fine then the blade stops. hard to get clutch cover off and now cant get it back on

Sounds like the brake has come on, grab the hand guard and pull it firmly right back to the top handle, this should load the brake.

Chain will not rotate; which part needs to be replaced?

Try to turn the chain by hand--if moves freely, the clutch assembly under the cover may be overly oiled. Remove the bar and chain, then wash the clutch drum and shoes with carburetor spray cleaner. Make sure the chain brake is not set. Hope this helps!

Loosen the tension adjuster, remove the clutch cover, (engine to left) pull the bar off the adjustment pin then push it left against the clutch cover bolt. Remove the chain from the chain groove, remove the bar, the chain can now be removed.
