With my Phase linear UV7I the brake sequence is locked..when i ground the wire the vid shows but turns off when the car goes off, is there a way to ground it withoout the remote

If you have the old firmware then all you need to do is ground the parking brake wire
OR
if you have the new firmware(just bought the system) a toggle switch is involved:
1 - connect e-brake wire from dvd unit to the switch
2 - connect a ground wire from switch to the unit chassis(any good metal grounding surface will do)
3 - pop in a dvd, toggle the switch back and forth 2 or 3 times depending on what wire you placed where...and voilaa!! your dvd system should work in motion!!

you probably have constant power running the radio. do you have constant and ignition wires from the radio hooked up or did you twist the yellow and red wires together? if this installation was done correctly than you the unit should power off when you turn the ignition off.

Wish to purchase a certain model am/fm / cassett in dash player deck single dimension

Well, I finally just broke down, went out and purchased a brand new am/fm/cassette player. These type stereo decks are kind of scarce now -a-days. It was reasonably priced and hope it will last longer than the old Phase Linear PCR4500.
Thanks for sharing and caring.

Best Regards,

Phase linear UV7i makeing the dvd player without useing parking

There is a pink wire that goes to the parking brake. It connects to the ground wire on the parking brake that makes the brake light come on the instrument panel.

connect the pink wire on your stereo to a frame ground.
