How do I open the cordless logitech mouse to change the battery. I am about ready to throw it in the river with cement shoes!!!!!

you should hold the reset button on the receiver for 5 seconds. let it go and immediately press the reset button on the mouse once. If done in this order it should be ok.

had a similar problem. i took the new batteries out again and WAITED about 20 seconds before putting them back in. the red light stopped blinking.

SOURCE: flashing light
It depends on the mouse. Sometimes the red light flashes to signify the processing of a command. If it is continually flashing, then you may want to replace the battery.

Sounds like you simply need to replace it as they are pretty finaky to fix. If it was dropped or jarred it may have dislogged the laster out of its holding spot in the mouse. But honestly it probally better off to just replace it.
