When i try to record a cd it rejects it and tells me to insert a blank cd?

Did you try a different CD? it sounds like that either you're using an already used CD, or that the things you're burning require larger amount of free space. Please check that you have no more than about 700MB waiting to be burned on the computer

Disc rejection


Try using a DVD / CD cleaner disc in the unit - this might fix the problem - I had the same format error on a Toshiba unit using Sony and VBerbatim discs - once cleaned the unit worked fine

Rejecting blank discs. roxio will copy a disc then reject the blank disc inserted whatever the format. repetedly asks ----- please insert blank disc.

You need to update the Roxio program to bypass this problem.
or you can get the the lastest version of the program.

I insert a disc that is pre recorded into side a and insert a blank cdrw into side b and its telling me unreadable disc?


Which one is unreadable? The pre-recorded disc must have been finalized. Where was it recorded?

The blank must have the word "audio" somewhere in its type definition.

Sony RCD-500C I get a data disc message when pressing record.


You need to use CD-R Music or Audio blanks, not Data. It's part of the spec for home CD recorders to reject blank data disks.

try using + AND minus blank discs maybe it wont accept cd minus r CD - R Discs so try CD + - R DISCS

User manual


Classic Electronics CDR201 CD Recorder. When I go to record and insert a blank CD into my recorder, no matter what I try, I receive the directive NO DISC. I also need a user's manual for my recorder. Can anyone please help?

It may be compatibility issues with that certain blank dvd media, dvd drive may not have dvd writing capabilities or drive is faulty.
